And as always, I’m bringing to you my list of all the fashion fashion trends from runways and celeb style, so that you can have the chicest season ever.

So are you ready to find out about the essential trends for Fall 2018? Let’s go!

Must Have Fashion Items for Fall 2018

1. Boy Jeans

Girls, welcome this cool, new trend that makes your trusted skinny jeans look so old fashioned. Boy jeans are different from boyfriend jeans in that boyfriend jeans are oversized, making you seem like you’re literally wearing your boyfriend’s jeans. Whereas boy jeans are well-fitted, but they look boyish. So go for medium-waisted, straight-cut and cropped jeans. You can either try unwashed, or slightly embellished or ripped jeans.

2. Statement Socks

Never thought that socks could rank so high up on your shopping list, right?! But from velvet, to fishnet socks to leather and embellished, socks are just so extra this year! Pair them with your sneakers, peep-toes or heels in early fall. And in the winter-time, you can even go for sock-booties.

We also spotted statement pantyhose on the Fall 2018 runways. Go for patterned, lamé, or metallic pantyhose. In fact, we even saw them just this week in Marc Jacobs Spring 2019 fashion show.

3. Short Strap Cross-Body Bags

Last year’s micro bag trend has evolved to become cross-body and they are Fall 2018’s It-bag. Keep ‘em small and hang ‘em close!

4. Suit Jackets

Forget denim jackets for 2018 because this is the year to look classy and elegant! Suits and tuxedos are one of the must have fashion items for Fall 2018. Either wear a chic cropped suit or wear the lapel jacket on its own. Or you can even go for a tuxedo jacket paired with gowns or even shorts. This is yet another trend we just spotted in Tom Ford Spring Summer 2019 show as well.

5. Transparent or Plexi

Celebs like Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift have already been wearing transparent boots and dresses for many months now. But the runways have made transparent heels, bags and even jewelry one of the must have fashion items for Fall 2018. So take your pick. Plus, we just spotted this trend in the Jeremy Scott Spring Summer 2019 show as well.

6. Narrow Skinny Sunglasses

Forget the oversized sunnies because the 90s, Matrix-style narrow sunglasses are so, so back! We saw them in different shapes and colors, too. And loads of celebrities like Bella Hadid, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Kaia Gerber are rocking them.

7. Victorian Sleeves

Here’s yet another revival trend, but this one’s not from the 90s. It’s from the Victorian era. We saw leg-o-mutton, flouncy and Juliet sleeves in tops, dresses and even outerwear. Great way to make a statement!

8. 3D Tops and Dresses

Why take a square foot when you can take a whole square meter? This fall, we’re gonna see an excess of ruffles, flouncy overskirts, oversized applique, and anything that goes outside the regular silhouette to take up extra space. I blame social media, because a regular designer dress just doesn’t grab enough eyeballs for celebrities these days. So you need to look like a cake with icing. Or a Dilophosaurus. You know, the dinosaur that killed Newman in Jurassic Park.

9. Choker Sets

Good news! Your choker is still very trendy. But this fall, pair it up with pendant chains of different lengths. Delicate chain-link chokers paired with different or matching dainty collar necklaces are super-hot right now! For winters, you can even go for a necklace set paired with a neck scarf.layered-choker-necklace-fall-winter-2018Layered Pendant Necklace

10. Sweater Bodysuit

Sweater bodysuits are one of the must have fashion items for Fall 2018. Or you can even go for a body-hugging sweater and just tuck it neatly into your skirt or jeans.

Latest Lehenga Trends Autumn Winter 2018: Lehenga Designs for Girls

lehenga-trends-2018-top-lehenga-designs-for-girls

Hey gorgeous! This is Shilpa Ahuja, Editor-in-Chief of ShilpaAhuja.com and your style BFF! India Couture Week just got over and so I’m finally able to bring you my fashion forecast. So we combined our analysis of Bollywood and celeb style, Instagram looks and runway collections to round up the 9 latest lehenga trends for 2018’s wedding season. We saw so many chic, new lehenga designs. Let’s dive right in!

 Latest Lehenga Trends for 2018

1. Pre-Draped Dupatta

Girls, this is one of the brand new latest lehenga trends. We’ve already seen pre-draped sarees before, but this season, designer lehenga cholis with pre-stitched dupattas are the #1 trend on our radar. Try hooded cholis with an optional second dupatta. Or go for dupatta that’s stitched to the sleeves for an ethereal gown-like look. Honestly, this is also my favorite trend. ‘Cause who wants to keep rearranging the dupatta when one is trying to concentrate on pani-puris at a wedding, right?!

2. Statement Sleeves

Here’s another trend that’s gonna make a real statement! We saw a mix of vintage European and modern couture styles. My recommendation is to try the asymmetric or one sleeved cholis if you want the contemporary touch. Or go for 18th century Victorian sleeves like short leg-o-mutton or flouncy sleeves. To find out more about different types of sleeves, check out our SlubWords fashion dictionary.

3. Illusion Neckline

Forget strapless and strappy cholis. And welcome illusion necklines. It’s basically embellished net that doesn’t seem to have a defined neckline, so you have rhinestones and crystals just floating on your décolletage. Innit sexy?!

4. High-Low Kurta with Lehenga

Last year’s kurta with lehenga trend has evolved to high-low peplums and empire-waist tops that are hip or knee length in the front, and ankle-length or floor-touching at the back. Wear with matching or contrasting lehengas. Skip the dupatta and go for high necks, or flaunt your cleavage!

5. Jackets

Having a winter wedding? Lehenga designs of 2018 have you covered! Front open velvet coats, long ruffled jackets and crop capes are very trendy, and they’ll keep you warm too. You can also get an embroidered coat that’ll go with multiple outfits – perfect for a winter wedding!

6. Pastels

Pastels are one of 2018’s hottest wedding wear trends, which we’re even seeing in bridal lehengas. Some of the top designers like Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani and Falguni & Shane Peacock have introduced soft color palettes in their collections, like petal pink, powder blue, pale peach and light mint-green.

7. Peplums and Empire Waist

Here’s yet another western-inspired trend we’re spotting in India Couture Week – designer lehengas worn with short peplum cholis or empire-waisted gown-like tops.

8. Extra Crop Blouses

Time to tone your abs, girls, because this wedding season will give you the perfect opportunity to flaunt them! Extra cropped cholis that end at or right above the upper abs are back!

9. High Neck

And last but not the least, if you’re feeling too lazy to pick up a necklace for your outfit, then this one’s for you! High neck cholis with embellished, choker-like bands are very trendy. Although I personally feel they look really uncomfortable!
