The Sheer Skirts Trend 2017 and What We Think of It!

The sheer skirts trend has been seen both on Spring and Fall 2017 runways. Here are the types of sheer skirts we saw and what we think of them!

Hey gorgeous! As temperatures rise, we’re happy to opt for all things airy. Sundresses, minis, tunics – bring it on! And sure, all types of skirts get a chance to come out of our closets. And we also never let go of a chance to try the latest trends, do we? Of course, some trends are easy to pull off and others are tricky.  Sheer skirts are one such trend. The flirty, sensuous sheer skirts have been ruling the runways. In Spring Summer 2017, it’s one of the top fashion trends and celebs are of course, embracing this trend!

Sheer Skirts on the Spring Summer 2017 Runways

Maria Grazia Chiuri at Dior came up with many types of long sheer skirtswhite ruffled midis, tiered minis, tulle maxi skirts and embroidered ones. We also saw sheer co-ord sets in white, black, red and nude. They were paired with leather jackets, bodysuits, sheer tops or even tees.

The sheer organza skirt in navy at worn over  a printed bodysuit was one of my favorite looks from Fendi SS17 collection. Chanel had a sheer mini skirt with a matching lining that made it super wearable. Dolce & Gabbana had a black sheer long skirt worn with a matching peplum. Versace had an asymmetric sheer panel midi skirt and Cavalli had sheer lace maxi skirt worn with a bralette.

The FW17 ready-to-wear runway collections had plenty of sheer skirts, so if you’re looking to invest in one, they’ll still be in trend next season and you won’t be disappointed! We saw all black sheer skirts again. Christopher Kane had a slashed black midi skirt, and Moschino showed a plain tulle maxi skirt worn with a sweatshirt. Super cool! Both Versace and Dolce & Gabbana had sheer midi skirts worn with jackets. Also, in FW17 fashion weeks, we saw less transparent versions, which were more wearble, I guess.

What Do We Think of the Sheer Skirts Trend?

Interesting, and also experimental. I wouldn’t be daring enough to go for something too transparent. Although I’d love to try a long sheer skirt with a jacket, plain top or perhaps a tee for a really casual look. Sheer panels and sheer patterns are something I definitely would love to try. A bit of peek-a-boo but not too much!

What do you think of this style? Would you love to try the sheer skirts trend? And if so, which of the runway looks inspired you? Lemme know! Comment below! Muaah 🙂
