Hey beautiful! The gowns from Fall 2017 couture collections were drool-worthy! From weddings to prom parties to romantic dates, gowns have always been a must-have for all special occasions! Gowns are taking a bolder yet wearable look this season on the runways. We went through Fall 2017 couture collections and predicted the top 9 trends that will create waves in the upcoming season.

Hottest & Latest Fashion Gowns for Fall Winter 2017

1. Appliquéd Gowns

Appliqué looks so eye-catchy and romantic on evening wear. The trend of appliqué has been spotted in many of our favorite designer collections like Chanel, Versace, Fendi and many more. In Fall 2017 couture collections, we saw big patterns using fur, feathers and floral appliqué.

2. Sheer Gowns

Sheer gowns have been one of the top gown trends for Spring Summer 2017 and they are still hot! From Fendi to Versace to Ralph & Russo, designers are loving creating sheer gowns, so we get to see them every season. We saw strapless, lace, applique and cape sheer gowns in the 2017 couture collections. I liked the sheer gown by Ralph & Russo – bold and sexy!

3. Ruffle Gowns

The ruffle trend in gowns has reached its peak level this year! Ruffles make the gowns look voluminous and poofy. If you don’t want a gown full of ruffles, go for it just at the sleeves, neckline or hemline as that’s trendy too.

4. Jacket Gowns

The trend of jacket gowns is something fresh this season. To wear gowns in winter makes us think twice. So, we’re grateful to the designers who come up gowns and matching jackets that help us look stylish and feel warm too! From crop sequined to appliqué ones, we saw many of them in our favorite designers collections like Chanel, Dior and Elie Saab.

5. Ankle Length Gowns

This one was the hardest of the trends to spot. In Fall 2017 couture collections, the lines have been blurring between gowns and dresses. Gowns are traditionally floor-length, but this season in Paris Fashion Week, we saw ankle length ones in nearly every major designers collection, making us wonder – do we call these gowns or just cocktail dresses? What’s a gown anymore!! Come on, designers, have a clear idea of what you’re designing and please don’t make our jobs tougher!

6. Metallic Gowns

Look party-ready with the latest trend of metallic gowns. Metallic colors like gold, silver and copper are the most prominent ones in gowns this season. From subtle to embellished ones, there’s one for every occasion. I liked the gold floor sweeping one by Guo Pei with a matching scarf – subtle yet chic!

7. Gowns with Belts

The trend of belted gowns is not fading away anytime soon! From Dior to Zuhair Murad to Schiaparelli, almost all design houses have gowns with belts in their collections. We saw sleek, metallic, embellished and broad belts this season. Instead of a matching belt, opt for a contrasting one as they are going to be super trendy in FW17!

8. Statement Sleeves

Statement sleeves are creating waves on the runways this season. Long bell sleeves that go down to the floor are so so trendy! We saw them in Elie Saab, Ralph & Russo and Versace. We also saw poofy and embellished sleeves. Full sleeves with a statement factor will totally be a big trend this winter.

9. Sweetheart Neckline

Add an oomph factor to your outfit by choosing a gown with a sweetheart neckline. Both plunging and sweetheart necklines are trendy this season but I preferred to add this one to our trends list as it looks sexier, more wearable and reveals the cleavage but not as much as the plunging one. Just the right amount!
