How to Wear Lehenga – 5 Latest Red Bridal Lehengas for 2016

Classic Red Embroidered Lehenga by Reynu Taandon

I want to start with a classic classic red lehenga from Reynu Taandon’s collection. The embroidered lehenga is paired with raw silk choli and bordered sheer dupatta. I accessorized it with jadau polki necklace, matching kundan earrings, black enamel polki ring and kundan head piece to give a stylish look. Pair classic reds with a matching red embroidered satin bag, red peep-toe pumps and a red and bronze eye palette.

Heavy Coral Embroidered Lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani

Here’s one from Tarun Tahiliani Bridal India Couture 2016 collection. This bridal lehenga in red with pale gold embroidery uses Mughal architecture motifs including arches and chakras, and is paired with red tulle dupatta. I wanted to give a royal iconic look to this amazing bridal lehenga. So I paired it with a diamond necklace set, matching kaleeras, pale gold clutch and embellished peep-toe heels.

Maroon Embroidered Lehenga by Manav Gangwani

Here’s one from Manav Gangwani’s Bridal 2016 collection. Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp as the showstopper wearing this maroon lehenga with gold and embroidery and an off-the-shoulder choli. To match this star-studded lehenga, I would recommend pairing it with a diamond and garnet necklace and drop earring set. I chose one with drop pearls that would look mesmerizing on off-the-shoulder choli with a Swarovski finger ring. I also paired it with matching lip shade and velvet ankle strap sandals.

Wine Lehenga & Off-Shoulder Choli by Manish Malhotra

One of my favorites in this list is this wine-colored lehenga from Manish Malhotra Couture 2016 collection. An off-shoulder choli was paired with a long train lehenga worn by showstopper Deepika Padukone at ICW. Accessorizing this lehenga was tricky because of its golden-pewter embroidery. So I chose a diamond necklace with cuff and a diamond leaf cocktail ring. Smokey-eye party makeup, matching hair accessories and embellished nail art would look stunning paired with this lehenga.

Vibrant Red Lehenga by Rimple & Harpreet Narula

Here’s the one by Rimple and Harpreet Narula. The vibrant red lehenga with birds and floral motifs is paired with embroidered blouse and sheer dupatta. With this lehenga, I added a little contrast with green accented set of kundan jewelry and a Swarovski ring. Add a polki maang tika and the hand-piece for a traditional bridal look.

  1. It’s not about choosing smaller pieces or minimalist designs to find wearable jewelry. You can mix and match your daily wear jewellery as you like. Because they are easily pairable and versatile, pearl studs, thin gold chains and diamond bangles make great additions to any daily wear jewellery collection. These are just a few of the many great options.
