Hey gorgeous! It’s very important to end your day with a relaxed sense of mind, when you’re feeling calm and good about yourself. You’ve had a long day. You get back from work and fix yourself a quick dinner. And to really relax yourself, you take a nice candle-lit bubble bath and call it a day with some post-shower body butter that smells sweet, with the promise of beauty sleep before yet another busy day starts.
So here’s a list of women’s sleepwear essentials I feel every girl needs in her closet. If you’re stuck in a sleepwear rut, expand your night closet to spice things up. If you have too much, stick to this list to create a capsule sleepwear wardrobe!
Women’s Sleepwear Essentials
1. Pajama Sets
For me PJ suits are the most basic part of women’s sleepwear wardrobe. I grew up wearing pajamas to sleep, and still love the comfort and softness they provide. Cotton ones are perfect for spring/summer, and wool blends are great for the chilly winters. Satin PJs can also be fun to add. How many pajamas do you need? If PJs are all you wear, you need 5-7 at least. If you have all the sleepwear essential items in this list, you’ll need only 2-3 sets of pajamas – go for plain, striped or prints.
2. Sleepshirt & Sleepdress
Oversized tees, sleepshirts and sleepdresses are all great, depending on your personal preference. I love cotton sleepdresses for summer nights. Some can even be worn during the day – great for weekends when you’re chilling around the house. So get yourself 2-3 flattering styles in nice bright colors!
3. Cotton Shorts and Tee-Sets
Shorts worn with camisoles, tee-shirts or tank tops are one of the most comfortable things to wear in the deadliest of summers! Even when the weather gets cooler, you can just pull a hoodie over it and be Netflix ready! Get a 3-5 pairs – plains, plaids, prints or mix and match with tops.
4. Lace Babydoll
A lace babydoll dress is the most sensuous item to sleep in. In my opinion, they look way sexier than sleeping naked! LOL. For the special nights, save a satin or lace babydoll with matching G-string, either in red, black or pretty pastel shade. Perfect for honeymoons, anniversary nights and special occasions. If you like babydolls for everyday wear, get a cotton blend that combines comfort with the hotness factor.
5. Robe
Whether you ordered in pizza for a late night dinner or get an unexpected visitor in the morning, or are even just lounging around before the shower, a robe or kimono is the perfect cover up over teensy night dresses. Get a robe to match your nightwear, especially a rich-looking satin one, and you’ll feel as sexy as a Victoria’s Secret model getting ready for the show!
6. Romper
Some girls prefer shorts, and others love rompers. This one piece item looks super cute to wear in the evenings after office when you’re having a quiet night in, or on weekends. So get 1-2 cotton blends that you can wear all day and night long!
7. Tank Tops or Camis
If you’re the kinda girl who likes to sleep in nothing but panties and camis, it’s good to get a set of different colored ones. You can pair them with shorts, mini skirts or PJs.
8. Satin Slip
A lace or satin slip-dress is a great alternative or addition to babydoll dresses. They are great when you’re in the mood to seduce your man, but also when you just wanna feel sexy after a relaxing midnight shower!
9. Sleep Bralette
If you’re not in the mood for sleeping in a tee or basic cami, go for a hot bralette, especially if you like sleeping with more support for your girlies!
10. Cozy Slippers
And of course, every girl needs trendy fur slippers, slides or flip-flops. I have a pair of lemon yellow fur flip flops – cute – and a pair of grey leo printed shearling slides. They make my nightly brush routine more fun! Get quirky ones, with birds or animal patchwork, or those shaped like animal paws – or something fun, plain and bright!
So how many of these women’s sleepwear essentials do you have? What do you love to sleep in?
