And kurtas and kurtis are every woman’s wardrobe essential. We love them most in summers, but really, they’re great for nearly every season. So here I did a little research on the latest kurtas. We saw designers coming up with endless options in designer kurtis in the fashion shows of Lakme Fashion Week and Amazon Fashion Week 2017!
So it’s never been easier to look classy with the charming traditional look!
Latest Kurta Trends for Women for 2017
1. Asymmetric Kurtas
If you get bored of the plain ol’ kurtas, just try asymmetric styles. We’re seeing high-low and asymmetrical cut designs. Tops or kurtas can be paired with palazzos and loose pants with a dupatta. I’m liking the collared kurta by Amit Agarwal!
2.Unique Draping Styles
Uniquely draped kurtas are such a hot favorite trend! If you love to try a fuss-free, trendy outfit in the summer, this would be a great option. Pair it with crop or loose pants. I’m loving the Tarun Tahiliani one!
3. Neutral Colors
Neutral color kurtas are super in! Beiges, off-whites and earthy sand tones can never go wrong. Pair a neutral colored kurta with matching or contrasting loose pants. Great for both casual outings and parties.
4. Oversized Collars
If you’re looking for a comfy statement look, go for this trend. Oversized collars give you a bold and classy look. Pair it with dhoti, loose or chooridar pants. I’m loving the Tarun Tahiliani one! This would be a great option for party-goers.
5. Peplum Kurtis
The peplum kurti is the perfect blend of ethnic fashion and western classiness. And it’s perfect for this hot season. Pair a peplum top with loose dhoti pants or chooridar. My favorite is one designed by Amit Agarwal.
6. Poncho Kurtas
Ponchos make their way in the kurta trends. Plain or printed asymmetric ponchos paired with loose crop pants or palazzos look sexy and great! Wear them to parties and fashion shows.
7. Printed Kurtas
From floral to textured prints, all are in this season! We saw this trend on the runways of Hemant & Nandita, Jakarta and Ritu Kumar. Pair printed kurtas with chooridar or loose pants. This would be a great option for a casual day out!
8. Shirt Kurta
Shirt style kurtas are perfect for office wear or meetings. Asymmetric or short shirt kurta can be paired with palazzos or chooridar pants with a tie or scarf. If you wanna go for a formal look, this would be a great option.
9. Long Sleeved Kurtas
Long sleeved kurtas are making a comeback this season, but the style has dramatically evolved. Pair long sleeved kurta with loose pants or chooridar. I’m liking the Amit Agarwal one!
10. Traditional Long Kurta
Traditional long kurtas never really went out of fashion. They’ve always been in trend, but this season we’re seeing a comeback with asymmetric over-sized collars, front slit top or dress paired with palazzos or chooridaar pants with a scarf. This amazing outfit is a great option for wedding and parties.
