“Versus is about individuality, bravery and pleasure. This is for everyone who dares to express themselves in everything they do.” The Versus Versace Spring/Summer 2018 collection at London Fashion Week was a celebration of Versus in 90s New York. The 90s fashion inspired yet contemporary looks were accessorized with fun and youthful details, which is what Versus Versace is all about. However, the usual edge factor was missing.

The most prominent features in the collection were the chokers with the Versus logo and asymmetrical jewelry. Every female model sported them along with square-toed sandals or boots. And thank heavens for the square-toed shoe which is honestly the most refreshing thing I’ve seen on the runway this season. Yes, it’s not as chic as pointy-toed ones but atleast it’s not making my eyes sore (and feet!). The collection also had a hint of sportiness to it with all the mesh and geometric panels. Cowboy hats and fringed bags were some other significant Versus accessories.

The color palette consisted of bright summery tones like mint blue and neon green which is a completely new direction for Versus. Other appreciable details were clear heels, mini bags, embellished bags and stacked bracelets. And regarding menswear, the Versus accessories included bucket hats (I don’t understand why they included the most boring style of hat in existence!), plaid scarves, studded shoes, sneakers and tote bags in different colors.
