Titled ‘Vintage Gardens’, the collection was inspired by a range of colorful flowers. “The collection showcases a bride’s global sensibility and outlook,” said the designer Varun Bahl in an interview.

The silhouettes included floor- touching gowns with slits, embroidered jackets worn over long gowns to give a unique look to the ensembles. Blouses, lehengas, anarkalis embellished with beads and heavy embroidery were also seen. The designs focus on craftsmanship to demonstrate how the motifs and appliqué work can be interwoven on fabrics like katan silk, matka silk, raw silk and silk net. The collection exhibited a play of textures and an assortment of floral patterns.

Menswear included sherwanis and bundhgalas with floral motifs, jackets paired with dupattas and slim pants or chooridars. The color palette included pale pink to ivory, pistachio, dark blue, cream and red. The outfits maintained a contemporary and elegant feel.

Here are two of my favorite looks from this collection – gown with sheer sleeves and floral embroidery, and a blue lehenga with embroidery and vintage-themed print.
