Valentino Spring Summer 2019 was full of gorgeous gowns, mini dresses, skirts and oversized dresses. The show started with a model wearing a voluminous off the shoulder black gown with pockets. A couple of other black looks that included peplum top and trousers, monochromatic skirt-top set and pleated gowns. We’ve been seeing pleated gowns for past few seasons now and this trend seems to stay longer.
From black colored outfits, the looks moved on to white and then the signature red color of Valentino. Towards the end, we saw sequined and printed gowns. Other outfits included bubble skirts, ball gowns, fringe-trimmed dresses and printed velvet pants.
Oversized straw hats, cat-eye sunglasses, fringe shoes and gold earrings were seen. Overall, the usage of poofy sleeves, midi dresses and flat slip-ons brought the classic Roman feel that is a signature of the house of Valentino. However, feather trimmings, glitter makeup and leather evoked a modern sense, showing us yet again how talented Pierpaolo Piccioli is.
