Hey gorgeous! Planning a tropical vacation this winter? Packing for vacations is super fun- deciding what sun-dresses get to go with you to create wonderful memories, squeezing them all into the luggage, and matching accessories with them! It’s all great.
What to Wear to a Pool Party
If you’re going to be hanging out at the pool with friends, or have a pool party planned, a bikini or swimsuit is a must. Needless to say, choose whatever you feel sexiest in, but it should also be something you can hang out in comfortably, without worrying about how you’re looking.
For the commute and socializing, wear a summer outfit over your swimsuit. It can be cool or sexy – however you want it. Good choices to try are rompers, maxi-dresses, sun-dresses, shorts and mini-skirts. Personally, I love separates instead of jumpsuits and rompers, because they give a lot of options to hang out in – you can take off the top and hang out in the bikini-top, etc. before going into the pool!
For this outfit, I chose a frayed denim mini-skirt, paired with an over-sized orange tee. It’s a comfortable outfit to hang in the whole day, and is really low-maintenance! Under this, I wore a black string bikini, with a backless halter top. I accessorized light – with nude ankle-strap stilettos, a silver chain pendant necklace and of course, a pair of ombre sunglasses! For a low-key party, or something more casual, I’d even replace the heels with a pair of nude-colored slip-ons or flip-flops.
As far as pool parties are concerned, the lesser accessories you wear, the better it is. Jewelry always tends to get lost in the piles of clothes when people are playing in the pool, so avoid valuables. Acrylic or bead jewelry works best, as they are water-resistant.
The Hair & Makeup
Pool parties are all about having fun, so the makeup and hair should be kept low-maintenance, just like the outfit. Keep it light, and if you wanna wear mascara or eyeliner, go for water-proof. For this look, I wore a peach lipstick, a copper-brown eye-shadow and liquid liner. I let my hair down in natural waves, but you can try chignons, buns or high pony-tails.
