From unique jacket styles to latest sleeveless coats, check out the 9 trendy men’s outerwear from Spring 2018 menswear collections!
Hey handsome! Outerwear is a must have wardrobe essential. From jackets to coats to vests, they are perfect for the bone-chilling winters, and the transition seasons – fall and spring. This year, we are seeing unique and stylish outerwear trends in menswear collections. Menswear has evolved over time, it’s not just about plain ol’ trench coats and down jackets. Designers are coming up with stylish yet wearable outerwear for men. So we went through the Spring Summer 2018 collections and rounded off 9 trendy men’s outerwear for next year.
Let’s check them out!
Trendy Men’s Outerwear for Spring 2018
1. Formal Printed Jackets
Formal jackets are no longer limited to the boardroom. Formal printed jackets are the new thing in trendy men’s fashion for Spring 2018 and you can rock them on dates, lunches and even at drinks! We saw floral prints, checks, chess board motifs and military inspired jackets. We saw them paired with cropped trousers, leather pants, patterned trousers, denim and even shorts! Plain formal jackets are out! Stack up your wardrobe with printed formal jackets.
2. Asymmetric Zippers
Zippers are a cool thing this season. We’ve seen asymmetric jacket trend in Spring Summer 2017 collections. But asymmetric zippers are going to be the ‘it’ thing in Spring 2018. The zipper is on the side instead of the center of the jacket. We saw printed, embellished, quilted, double breasted and sleeveless jackets.
3. Bomber Jackets
Bomber jackets are not a new thing. But they are as trendy as ever. We saw them in a lot of the major designer collections. We saw graphic print bomber jacket by Dior, two-tone checkered bomber jacket by Fendi, embroidered bomber jacket by Valentino and many more.
4. Leather Jackets
Leather jackets are super hot this spring. We saw different types of leather jackets in the runway looks. We saw fur collared with zipper details, text on the sleeves, patterned, animal print in the front, embellished collar and studded in the designer collections of Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Balmain, Dsquared2, Moschino and many more.
5. Half Sleeved Jackets
Half sleeved is the hottest trend in the men’s outerwear fashion. We also saw them in womenswear in Fall Winter RTW 2017 collections. They were paired with extra long gloves. But in menswear, we’re seeing them styled casually. Men’s outerwear fashion included half sleeved jacket, hoodie, leather jacket in the designer collections of Dior, Valentino and many more.
6. Sleeveless Coats
Full sleeved coats are a passé. This spring is all about sleeveless coats. I feel they’re perfect for the transition season or late spring. You don’t want to wear something heavy but you want to layer to stay warm. But aren’t arms supposed to be warm too? Anyway, in a look by Balmain, the sleeveless coat is paired with a full sleeved sweater and a pair of denim – perfect outerwear for spring unlike the looks by Dior and Alexander McQueen.
7. Statement Fringes
Fringes are super hot this season. We saw boho-inspired and sleek thread fringes in the runway collections. A perfect casual wear for parties and brunches. They were paired with formal and casual outfits in men’s outerwear fashion.
8. Hoodies
We saw hoodies – both with and without zippers amongst Spring 2018 men’s outerwear fashion. We saw them in different fabrics like cotton, velvet, denim and satin silk. They were paired as casual wear and the look by Versace is perfect for parties too.
9. Logo
Logos are bold on the outerwear this year. We saw them on down jackets, hoodies and jackets. We saw them on chest, sleeves and collars of the jackets in the designer collections of Balenciaga, Dsquared2, Moschino and many more in trendy men’s outerwear.
So, these were our top 9 trendy men’s outerwear styles from Spring Summer 2018 collections. Which trends were your favorite? I loved the asymmetric zippers trend and I’m gonna pick one for my man. Tweet us your favorite @Shilpa1ahuja!
