From cocktails to yummy food to great ambiance, here are the top pubs in Chennai to spend your weekends and have great fun!
Top Pubs in Chennai
1. Radio Room
Location: Hotel 94, Satyadev Ave, Opp Appolo Hospitals, MRC Nagar, Chennai
This bar is a well known and a popular place launched with a bang in 2016. The interior is mindblowing with full of 80s nostalgia. When I visited, I was especially loving their idea of using the microphone-shaped lamps, repurposed music systems and the iconic art of Bob Marley on one of their walls. And this seems to be the best hangout bar if you wanna dance to 80s and 90s favorite tunes! Give their melon and cheese cocktail, mozzarella stuffed molaga bajji a try. Shilpa also recommends their paneer steak!
2. Vault Bar Stock Exchange
Venue: Shop No 22/23, Venkatanarayan Street, Chennai
This place is just awesome with something special that happens when you order drinks. You must be thinking what that is? Okay, let me tell you… Enjoy making your moves on the stock market, the prices go up and down on the ticker according to the volume of the drinks you order. The prices on the food stay constant though. Try their herb garlic bread and pizzas.
3. Evoke Bistro
Location: 5/360, 2nd Floor, Old Mahabalipuram Road, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Okkiyum, Thoraipakkam, Chennai
2nd Address: 255/31, Velachery Main Road, Dhadeswaram Nagar, Velachery, Chennai
Evoke has an ambiance that will make you feel that it’s a little adventurous when you’re about to step in! Their entrance is quite an interesting one. It gets even more interesting inside with the beautiful interior and dim lighting. And they play the perfect music that I love while sipping my cocktails. They always have some combo offer or the other on their menu. And also try their yummy Chinese food.
4. 10 Downing Street
Location: Kences Inn, 50, North Boag Road, Chennai
10 D is the most well-known place when you think about the top pubs in Chennai. And it has been one of the most popular hangout spots even after many new pubs have been launched in the recent years. They have the best combos ever in both food and drinks. This is the best pub for drinking. I also love their mix pasta.
5. Hoppipola
Venue: The Spring Hotel, Kodambakkam
Hoppipola is another popular drinking spot. But in my opinion, the ambiance is okayish! But still, it’s the best pub to chill out with loud music, best ever alcohols and tasty dishes. As you enter the pub you can see all types of radios and CDs on the wall that I loved the most.
6. Big Bang Theory
Address: Brownstar Boutique Hotel, 2/25, Dr Ambedkar Road
BBT has the iconic image of Einstein with his tongue out and also some quirky design elements on the walls that add drama and make the pub look cool. You also get great combos at a very less price but the timing is restricted. You must try their lemon goose cocktail and vegetarian crispy crimes.
7. Studio – The Slate
Location: 23/13, KNK, Nungambakkam, Chennai
The Slate has an awesome ambiance, cool crowd, and weird drink names that define this place. And it’s situated in Nungambakkam, the heart of the city. The food doesn’t taste that great, but their cocktails are. Visiting The Slate once is a must not for their dishes but for their drinks, hookah and for their lovely atmosphere.
8. Illusions
Location: 105, 1st Floor, Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore, Chennai
Amazing pub to get out for their music, alcohol and dance floor. And it’s still on my list of top pubs in Chennai to visit. They usually have a package of crazy drinks and mouth watering dishes to choose from the menu. And they also have great music to listen to! Great ambiance, yummy dishes, crazy cocktails with all sorts of music. What else do we need! Am I right?
9. Ink 303
Address: Khader Nawaz Khan Rd, Srirampuram, Thousand Lights West, Chennai
The name of this bar is inspired by the dark and multiple shades of blue. And it’s situated in the Nungambakkam. Amazing place to hang out with your friends or your colleagues. And don’t forget to try their vodka cocktails and vegetarian bites.
