Hey gorgeous! As spring approaches, we can’t wait to add some summery brights, pastels and whites to our wardrobe. Fresh colors are the quickest way to reinvigorate your outfits in the beginning of every season. And come spring, they also help us feel rejuvenated and happy!
“Black and white might be sufficient. But why deprive yourself of color?” said Christian Dior, and we can’t agree more! Adding color is like adding life to your wardrobe. Adding character. Adding charm!
So let’s take a look at the basics, the bolds and the beautifuls – the top colors to wear in 2017. I saw the Spring Summer 2017 ready-to-wear runway collections of all the major designers to predict the top colors everyone’s gonna be wearing next season!
Latest Fashion Colors to Wear in 2017
1. Pure White
Pure whites are my favorite way to start Monday mornings with. And they are perfect for the summer – so light and refreshing. We saw design houses like Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Fendi, Chanel and many more coming up with head-to-toe white looks. Pair separates in the same shade of white, or go for a white dress and match your shoes and bag with it!
2. Head-to-Toe Black
Head-to-toe black was trendy last season, too, and it’s not going out of style any time soon. So when someone says <insert random color here> is the new black, don’t believe them! We saw lots of designers whose collections showed black outfits in a major way – Dior, Louis Vuitton, Versus Versace and more.
3. Candy Pink
It’s Valentine’s month as I’m writing this, so we’re bound to see pink already! But really, pink is the color of Spring 2017. From sweaters to dresses to jackets, sport pink wherever you like. The top shades we saw were candy pink (Valentino and Fendi), Barbie pink (Moschino), pastel pink (Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel) and salmon pink (Prabal Gurung).
4. Sunflower Yellow
Orange and yellow were both seen on the runways for Spring Summer 2017 collections. Sunflower yellow is the bright color to try this season. Dolce & Gabbana actually had sunflowers on some of its dresses! Max Mara and Chanel had matching sets in yellow. We also saw pastel yellow.
5. Sky Blue
Summer and sky blue color go hand in hand. This year, sky blue was all over the runways – Chanel, Versace, Fendi and so many more played with shades of the sky – periwinkle, pale turquoise, light pastel blue and classic baby blue were seen. Other than sky blue, we also saw bright blue and midnight blue in some of the collections.
6. Multicolor Brights
While solid colors have been the stuff of classic elegance for decades, designers keep experimenting with patterns in a multitude of colors from time to time. So if you wanna make your look more colorful, this is the season to do so!
7. Nude Pastels
Instead of wearing the classic nude color, for SS17 we also saw models in different shades of nude pastels on the runways. Creamy nude, pinky nude and nude beige were seen in the collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and Dior respectively.
8. Gleaming Metallics
The classic shades in metallics are back in. Pale gold, silvery grey and bronze were seen in the collections of Fendi, Marc Jacobs and Gucci. make a statement with them!
9. Vivid Green
Greenery has been chosen as the Pantone color of the year, and it’s no surprise we’ve already been seeing shades of tropical green on the runways of Spring Sumner 2017. Also try rosemary and jade green.
