Dress like a modern princess & live the royal dream of every girl. Check out how to look classy and elegant with a black and white dress for an evening tea.
How to Look Classy
Hello, my lovelies! Some of us may not buy the whole princess story, but we do want to live the royal dream and look like a modern princess. Wanna know more about how to look classy and elegant? I did a look for inspiration with a black and white dress for an evening tea party.
I’ve been so busy lately posting all the couture collections and reviews from India Couture Week. Now that that’s all done, I can finally post my latest look!
I did an article last week about How to Dress like Royalty, and as promised in that, I’m posting my much awaited version of a royalty look. It’s sort of a modern urban princess look – one who may not be a princess by blood, but leads a life like one, likes to dress like one and loves traditional soirées like tea parties.

Looking classy is all about understated and old-school style. Monochromatic colors and pastel shades work well. Pieces like flared knee-length dresses and cocktail midi dresses work great for early-evening or afternoon parties. Minimal accessories are the best bet.
This style resonates a lot with my personal style. The dress I chose for this look is what I wore for my graduate school’s ball. It’s a lovely cocktail dress in black and white organza. It has a tie-belt and layering at the top.
For this look, I styled it a little more elegantly and formally. I did cream and pink makeup, and my hair tied up in a bun. A pearl necklace set and diamond rings added a touch of class to the outfit.
It’s a very formal, dressy look, possibly for a cocktail part or a back-tie evening. Or maybe a very fancy tea party!
