Rimple and Harpreet Narula fashion show 2015 collection ‘Maharadja & Co.’ was shown at the Amazon India Couture Week. It was inspired by the Indian royalty, their splendor and extravagance.
The fashion show had Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty as the showstopper. She walked the ramp wearing a gold embroidered lehenga-choli.
The inspiration for the fashion show was Indian royalty and extravagance. This seemed to be the general theme for this years collections at Amazon India Couture Week 2015. Perhaps the designers believe in celebrating what has become too comfortable for Indian fashion everywhere, from Bollywood to the ramps.
The silhouettes encompassed anarkalis, lehenga-cholis, sarees and sherwanis – typical Indian wedding ensembles. The hues are additional factors that make the beaten road inspiration obvious – ivory & beige, pale golds and maroon and ruby. Fabrics include sequinned georgettes, silk, brocade with crystal work and embroidered organza. The cut and style of the ensembles save the show. The jackets and cholis mark elegance and splendor. Brass colored embroideries and silk lehengas in shades of wines and ruby reds look beautifully wearable.
