Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 haute couture collection was a breathtaking one with a luxurious display of crystal, sequins, fringes made out of gold foil, pearls, feathers and organza flower appliqué. The whole collection was a mix of casual and party wear. And the show opened with a few cocktail looks, such as white crepe peplum petal appliqué with a draped skirt and a gunmetal tulle cocktail dress.
Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor walking down the runway as the bride was my favorite part of the show. Her dress was described as, “Champagne Chantilly lace bridal gown with double duchess overskirt, hand embroidered with silver and gold bullion, floral silk thread work, sequins and pearlescent micro beads,” in the Ralph & Russo website. The gown was accessorized with an embroidered tulle head piece.
The color palette of the collection included neutrals like white, grey and cream. We also saw pastels and classic black. Three of the looks in this collection were really out of the box – a feather appliqué and foil fringe mini dress with a long train, rose gold crystal top paired with fringed pencil skirt and a layered gown with silk fringes and sequins.
A lot of the looks in Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 haute couture collection were classy and fabulous. We saw a pale pink tulle gown. It was accompanied by a crystal embellished cape and one shoulder white and gold gown embellished with glass beads.
Here are two of my favorite looks – a pale silk crepe gazar gown with voluminous sleeves, and also a lavender ombré ball gown with voluminous tiered skirt and crystal embellished bodice.
