Ralph Lauren Fall 2017 collection takes inspiration from cars. Read more to know how automobiles inspired the runway fashion!
Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2017 collection was set up in his garage. Yes! The garage was turned into a runway that had luxury cars placed in the middle! From Ferraris to Porches to Jaguars they were there for display (yes, only display!) Oh! Also, the Bugatti – feast to eyes! Now Ralph Lauren reminded me about my car fantasy – the only difference being that I have toy versions.
The collection took inspiration from cars, using the bright primary colors of sports cars, shiny fabrics reminiscent of cars’ surface and sharp rich-looking silhouettes. Ralph Lauren said about the fashion show, “My cars have always been an inspiration to me. I see them as moving art. My women’s collection for Fall 2017 connects the elements of the speed, style, and beauty of these handcrafted vehicles with the very modern yet timeless spirit of the clothes.”
And he calls it the fall collection when all the designers out there are showcasing Spring Summer 2018 collection. Why? Did you ask me why? If you have a problem with what Ralph Lauren calls his collection, talk to Ralph, while I drool over these gowns. So, that’s the reason the color palette also included gloomy colors like black and grey.
The Ralph Lauren Fall 2017 fashion show started with formal and semi formal looks – both menswear and womenswear. Checkered patterned fabrics were played around with different silhouettes. From men’s suits to tops and skirts and slip dresses, they were all chic!
And the show gradually moved on to feminine party casual outfits. Outerwear included down jackets, leather jackets and coats. There was a swanky leather top and a dress, too! How fancy?! Gowns included tulle, liquid metallic and classic black ones with patent leather. Two looks had evening dresses that looked like trench coats.
Bella Hadid wore a red tulle skirt paired with matching leather bustier while her BFF Kendall Jenner wore a gorgeous black tulle gown with yellow top.
Accessories included metallic collar necklaces, bracelets, gloves and leather pumps. The makeup was minimal with nude lips paired with straight hair.
Menswear included tuxedos, classic black suits, checkered ones, down jackets, coats and the asymmetric jackets was the highlight of the collection. My favorite look from the collection is this black leather suit.
