Things to do:
Day 1
Visit the Guggenheim Museum in the morning to enjoy it to the fullest, both its architecture and exhibits, both its exteriors and interiors. The museum has free guided tours, and features both permanent and temporary exhibits, all of which are worthwhile. Have lunch at the museum café, or one of the local restaurants.

Take a quick walk or bus/cab uphill to the Funicular de Artxanda. Take the tram to the top of the hill. It features panoramic views of the city, a huge thumb print sculpture, and lovely bird’s eye views of the Guggenheim Museum.
After getting back from the Funicular, walk along the river Nervión for the ever-changing, interesting and dynamic views of the Guggenheim museum, because it looks different from all angles. Plus, it’ll give you views of the exhibits they have along the river next to its pool, such as the huge spider, Maman by Louise Bourgeois. In the evenings, the pool is lit up in colorful lights, and with the reflection of the museum, makes for beautiful photography.
