Hey gorgeous! Pool parties are the perfect excuse to don mini-skirts, crop tops and bandeau tops. But what if the party calls for a slightly more grown-up attire? These days, every occasion has become a vacation in itself. Be it weddings, birthdays, pre-wedding shoots or anniversaries, everything becomes a full-fledged party at a super cool destination. So if this winter, you’re planning a pool party at some warm, tropical destination, you gotta plan your outfit right!
For your adult life, forget those flimsy skirts and teensy tops, and go for something more elegant if it’s a more formal occasion, like a birthday vacation, wedding or a bachelorette trip.
Night time pool parties or pool side destination weddings call for slightly formal outfits that give a glam yet cool vibe. Long dresses as opposed to gowns are the perf idea. Instead of the common brights that are reserved for summer pool parties, try wintry pastels, or even deep colors like burgundy or royal blue.
For pool parties, go for a dress that can be easily worn over a form-fitting swim-suit, if swimming is on the memo. If you’re planning to just be around the pool, go for a quick dry fabric so that you can easily lounge around with your feet inside the pool!
Here, I wore a sapphire colored long dress with knee-high slits on either side. I created this outfit for a romantic staycation at The Leela Palace, Chennai for my fifth marriage anniversary!
The best thing I wanted to create for this outfit was a purple makeup look. Purple complements the blue and creates a winter combination that also works for the tropical weather. I accessorized it with a matching blue and gold bracelet and a pearl necklace.
And matching blue heels.
Hope you liked my outfit and hope it’ll inspire you to create one of your next outfits! Lemme know your thoughts in the comments down below!
