For a fashion show whose invitation came as a doctor’s prescription (by Dr. Moschino), the title seemed just about right – Capsule Collection.

And while capsule and prescription prints were seen on dresses, tees and such, the fashion show was all about the paper doll theme. Models including Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Taylor Hill were dressed as paper dolls, complete with folding tabs.

The opening look was Gigi’s with a white gown with an image of a woman in black lingerie. Other dresses had similar theme, with prints including pearl necklaces, chain link belts, bikini tops and even retro evening gowns. Other pieces included maxi dresses, crop-tops, mini-dresses and jackets. Swimsuits and an athleisure track co-ord suit was also included.

With most silhouettes giving the illusion of being something else, what was actually included hardly matters. A maxi skirt had a pair of pants printed on it, and a pair of leggings had shorts with mesh pantyhose printed on it.

The accessories were really curious – cardboard two-dimensional necklaces and bracelets with prints of gold bangles, pearl necklaces, capsule-bottle shaped smartphone covers and a clutch with a gloved hand sticking out (see above)! The makeup and hair with curly bobs and bangs were also in the paper doll theme. One of my favorite looks was an aysmmetric dress with the print of hands holding up a gown:

Not much for wearability, but Jeremy Scott just raised the bar up higher in terms of creativity with this Moschino SS17 collection.
