With a wardrobe full of practical clothing, the First Lady is always elegantly dressed for state dinners or talks. Here’s the best of Michelle Obama’s style!
Soon enough, it’ll be time to bid farewell to Barack and Michelle Obama from the White House. And soon enough, they won’t be the President and First Lady of the United States. And we’ll be missing their class, kindness, style and grace.
So I can think of no better time than now to take a look back at the best of Michelle Obama’s style moments. The First Lady is all about comfortable fashion and practical clothing. With a muted color palette and a selection of elegant staples, she manages to reveal so much about her personality – strength, intellect, and a respect for traditions.
Mrs. Obama is hardly new to being scrutinized for fashion, In July 2007, Vanity Fair listed her among “10 of the World’s Best Dressed People.” She has worn designs by Michael Kors, Christian Louboutin and Jason Wu, amongst others. The FLOTUS has also been featured in many fashion magazines – Glamour, Vogue and most recently, on the Vogue US cover, and now, of course on ShilpaAhuja.com!
But styling for state dinners and fashion magazine covers is different than styling for the everyday talks and First Lady duties. We all may not have the same stuff to do, but if you’re a working woman who thinks that runway fashion is too high-maintenance for your lifestyle, or that celebrity street style is always too striking for your personality, this one’s for you!
Our personal style plays a great role in how others perceive us subconsciously, and how our presence is felt to them, whether or not they realize it. It also plays a great role in setting our mood, whether or not we realize it. As women, we all know too well that we sometimes need to just tone it down and look grown-up to be taken seriously.
So if you sometimes feel that the latest trends are, well, too fashionable to work for you, or if you just need some style inspiration for your busy lives, here are my top picks for Michelle Obama’s fashion.
