Wedding dresses have always wowed us, and call me a romantic dreamer, but I feel they keep getting more and more gorgeous every year! This year, we are seeing some old and some new trends in bridal gowns on the runways. Let’s check them all out!
Latest Trends in Wedding Dresses for 2016
Sheer has taken over our street style wardrobe and the red carpet celeb style, and now it’s in the wedding gowns too! We saw dresses with sheer shoulders, top, sleeves and even complete sheer gowns in lace or tulle!
This trend is big this year. From Oscar de la Renta to Vera Wang, a lot of designers made the case for gowns that had lingerie elements like bra-tops and corsets. Oscar de la Renta had a bra-top gown with organza petals covering the top.
Backless is not a new trend but we are seeing more and more of it in the designer collections. From sheer lace backs to back cut-outs to completely backless, it’s all trendy!
Short/ Slit/ Asymmetric
Short wedding dresses are still trendy from last season, and this season they are also getting coupled with asymmetric hemlines – short in the front and longer in the back. Slits were also seen, along with slitted gowns that were layered over shorter dresses.
The mermaid style skirt is very trendy right now – the one that is tight till the thighs and then tapers to become a full skirt or a trail.
Layered or ruffled gowns are very trendy, and very romantic! Layers add to the fullness of the skirt and make it look very dreamy! Both poofy asymmetric ruffles and subtle layering is in.
Sweetheart neckline that looks like the top of the heart emoji is very in this season. It looks romantic and flattering! It can be strapless or combined with noodle straps!
I’m not getting married but yet I’m loving all these gowns! Which one did you like the best and which trend is your favorite? Comment below and lemme know! And if you’re searching for a wedding gown for yourself, congratulations and hope you find your dream-dress soon! Muaah!
