Wedding sherwani trends for 2017 are all about classy elegance. From Rohit Bal to Manish Malhotra, here are the latest sherwani designs for 2017!
Latest Sherwani Designs for Men for 2017
1. Bordered Dupatta
Dupattas are not something new but have been introduced with a new touch this year. We saw many designers introduce a trendy sherwani style with bordered dupattas. Foil and floral patterns are the trendiest this year in borders. I’m liking the Varun Bahl one!
2. Damask Pattern
Damask is a reversible figured fabric with a repetitive pattern. These patterns look very rich and classy. In fact, we saw these patterns introduced in the latest sherwani designs of Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre and Rimple and Harpreet Narula. Choose a sherwani in a deep, rich color with gold damask patterns. They can be paired with gold pants or with matching pants.
3. Front Open Jacket
A small twist in the basic sherwani design brings your look to a whole level. This year, we’re seeing latest sherwani designs with front open jacket. The color of the jacket can be in contrast or matching with your sherwani. Pair it with dhoti pants. Ruby red is my all time favorite. If I had to pick one, I’d shop the Tarun Tahiliani one!
4. Plain Velvet
This year, we saw plain velvet sherwanis all over Lakme Fashion Week. Velvet is a super trendy fabric this year and it sure became a sherwani trend. Manish Malhotra came up with a long velvet coat and sherwani paired with loose pants and sequin bordered contrast dupatta. I’m loving the latest sherwani design for wedding by Manish Malhotra!
5. Intricate Pattern
Yet another classy trend, sherwanis with intricate patterns look great and wearable for all types of wedding functions. Botanical and geometric patterns are very trendy this season. Pair the best sherwani with chooridar or loose pants. I’m loving the Manish Malhotra one!
6. Mixed Pattern
Mixed patterns on sherwanis are a little tricky to select. But it’s a great idea for you to play with the latest sherwani trends. We saw top wedding sherwanis in the designer collections with mixed patterns – combining floral and geometrical. Add a dupatta and pair them with loose or chooridar pants.
7. Pastel Monochromatic Sherwanis
Forget about the contrast colors, as we saw pastel tone on tone color palettes are in vogue this year in sherwanis for wedding. It’s a great idea to pick up any of these for the wedding reception. I’m loving the Manish Malhotra one!
8. Button Placket
Plain sherwani with buttons on the front look stylish and sophisticated. Pair the latest designer sherwani with dhoti or chooridar pants. It would be a great idea to wear these for casual occasions like engagement or sangeet.
9. Floral Dupatta
A dupatta is always a classic Indian accessory that can complement any designer sherwani. Want to stick to traditions? Try a floral dupatta with a plain border with a dark-colored plain sherwani with white choridaar pants. You simply cannot go wrong with this outfit!
10. Dhoti / Salwar
This trend never goes out of fashion. Embroidered sherwani style with the matching dupatta paired with loose pants or dhoti pants is all time favorite for any wedding occasion.
11. Royal Colors
The latest colors for sherwani for wedding this year are deep browns, royal colors like ruby red, amethyst and emerald green, pale metallics like gold. Also try pastels like coral red and pale green.
