And the women’s love for the beautiful sarees is obvious because no matter what special occasions you look at, you’ll always see women sporting them. Let’s take a look at the latest saree trends for 2018!

Latest Saree Trends for 2018

1. Pallu with Long Train

The pallu doesn’t just touch the floor. Instead, they are floor sweeping! I’m liking the Sanjukta Dutta one! These are the best bridal sarees for weddings.

2. Uniquely Draped Sarees

If you wanna make a statement, this trend would be a great idea. Why? Because you can drape your sarees in a unique way, by draping the pallu in many ways as we saw below on the runways of Amit Aggarwal and Rahul Mishra. You can try wearing a high neck blouse on top of the saree for a bold look. I’m liking the Anita Dongre one!

3. Plain Sarees

Plain sarees are a huge trend this season. To sport this classic trend, wear them with heavily adorned, contrasting or matching blouses. And no matter how bright or dull the colors may be, plain sarees always have a charming and formal look to them. Great idea to wear to office parties. You can sizzle up a plain saree with a metallic blouse or add a long robe over it, or even drape it in a unique way over chooridar.

4. Saree with Fringes

Fringes add a lot of oomph to your sarees. This season, we saw Indian designers come up with fringes on saree borders, at the end of the pallu or on the blouses. It looks even more amazing when the fringes are draped along the saree as seen below in the look by Sougat Paul. I’m loving the fringe bordered stylish saree paired with an off-the-shoulder blouse by Payal Singhal.

5. Saree with Jackets

Jackets are yet another trendy fashion staple to add to your latest saree collection. Try both western and Indo western jackets with sarees and match the colors. Jackets can be cropped, hip length, knee length or floor touching. And they look great with plain, embroidered and embellished sarees. Also, this latest trend in designer sarees is just perfect for winter brides who want to look different.

6. Ruffled Sarees

Ruffled sarees are back! And why go for something simple when you can be bold and dramatic? Ruffles may be a 70s thing but they’re trending on the runways of designer collections this season. Add ruffles to your sarees for a bold and glamorous look. We saw ruffles on saree borders and blouse sleeves. For a classier look, pair your ruffled long train saree with a collared blouse and chooridar as seen on the runway of Nancy Luharwalla. Wear it to your BFF’s wedding reception.

7. Sarees with Kimono

Inspired by the traditional Japanese garment, designers have reinvented the kimono and given them an Indian touch by pairing them with sarees. Kimonos can be long or short with wide sleeves and tied with a sash. Wear them to fashion shows or your BFF’s engagement.

8. Pleatless & Fusion Sarees

One of the fancy saree styles of 2018 is pleatless! Pleatless style makes wearing sarees easier and quicker. You can even try to drape your existing sarees in this way. We also saw latest saree designs in the 2018 collections with fusion elements added to them. It’s an eye-catching saree trend. And if you wanna look chic and ethnic at the same time, then this would be a great option for different occasions and weddings.

9. Statement Pallu with Plain Pleats

Basically, the pleats are plain and the rest of the saree is embellished, foil printed or embroidered. You can opt for any of these latest designer sarees for parties and day-time events.

10. Nature Inspired Sarees

Nature is sure to inspire the creativity of the designer with different colors and ideas. These nature-inspired sarees are timeless in fashion. We saw birds and floral motifs on the runways of Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018. I’m loving the idea of wearing the geometric blouse design with the fancy saree.

11. Sheer Sarees
