Latest Indian Fashion Trends for 2018

1. Knee-Length & Floor-Touching Sleeves

Tired of wearing traditional wear for women with boring sleeves? Worry not, Floor touching and knee length sleeves are the hottest trend this season and surely create a statement. It’s such an amazing trend! We saw loose asymmetric, slit and pleated sleeves going below the knee and even those that go to the floor. Great option for cocktail or evening parties.

2. Capes & Ponchos

Capes and ponchos are hot and trendy as ever. Embellished, sheer embroidered capes and ponchos are one of the hottest trends this year too. We saw them in lehenga, long trail and floor touching gowns, especially crop sheer ponchos. I’m liking the Rahul Mishra one!

3. Jackets

Jackets are very trendy this season! We saw plain, embroidered, and embellished jackets paired with lehengas, sarees, and gowns. Floor-touching jackets paired outfits are best for winter weddings. Wear a contrasting one with your outfit! Jackets are also a great way to rewear old outfits with a whole new look! I love the trendy jacket gown by Anju Modi.

4. Long Kurta with Front Slit

Long kurtas are back and designers are making a case for front slits. We saw kurta with slit on lehengas, palazzos, bell pants and long skirts in the collections of almost all fashion designers. Perfect for your friend’s wedding sangeet or casual parties.

5. Shoulder Cut-Outs

From off-the-shoulder to shoulder cut-outs, this trend is here to stay. So flaunt those toned shoulders before it goes out of fashion. We saw shoulder cut on cholis and blouses which make you look sexy without revealing too much skin. You can even find similar but more affordable stylish dresses online in this style.

6. Saree with Chooridar

This season’s saree comes with a with a unique twist – paired with chooridar. It redefines the blend of the style and tradition. We saw matching chooridars, but you can also pick a chooridar to match the border and contrast your saree. Pair with plain or embellished peep-toe heels! Great option for sangeet & DJ nights at weddings!

7. Pre-Draped Sarees

The pre-draped sarees are making waves on the runways this year. This trend is perfect for the modern Indian woman who is busy and finds no time to drape the nine-yard fabric. Great option if you wanna make an uber-cool statement. Pair with an off-shoulder blouse to turn heads.

8. Bell Sleeves

Bell sleeves are the new winter classic! The bell sleeves fashion makes a comeback this year. 70s style of voluminous long or short sleeves on blouses and gowns are having their moment. Great idea if you wanna try some easy-to-wear retro style.

9. Belts

When it comes to fashion, belts aren’t exactly the first thing we are excited about! After all, belts have always been an essential accessory for men. But in case of women, not so much! But this season, you wanna think of them as a real statement-maker, and especially India’s new indian fashion designers are vouching for them. Enjoy the sophisticated touch they add when paired with lehengas and sarees, which we saw on the runways of Anju Modi, Shyamal & Bhumika and Ruceru.
