Hey there! It’s hard to miss out on the couture collections as there’s so much of flare, uniqueness and elegance. Every look is different from the other and all have different styles. But, we at the SlubTeam, strive to spot the newest of the trends by going through all the fashion shows and refine the best of them!

The Fall 2018 couture collections had some new styles and we even spotted some trends we’ve already seen in the past few seasons. The past trends have become so huge that the designers are finding it hard to let go of them! Apart from the below-mentioned trends we even saw statement applique, laser cut gowns and pocket gowns. But unfortunately, these couldn’t beat our top trends. So here are the best 10 gown designs for 2018. Let’s take a look!

Fall Winter 2018 Couture Gown Designs

1. Pant Gowns

Gowns with pants are something fresh this season. We’re loving this style as they’re smart and flattering. These are pants with a long flowy fabric attached to the waistline also known as waist cape. Well-fitted pants give a more classy look to the outfit.

2. Minimalistic Gowns

Couture has never been about minimalism, but in FW18 couture collections, along with lavish outfits, minimalism also ruled the runways. Go for just a simple flowy gown with a classy neckline and you’re good to rock your evening parties.

3. Gowns with Overskirt

Gowns with overskirts are another one of the newest trends we’re seeing in Fall 2018 couture collections. The overskirt can either be of a different fabric or of the same fabric as the gown. Overskirts add a poofy factor to the outfit. Flaunt your style with overskirt gowns this season!

4. Statement Shoulder

Show off your shoulders this winter as both exaggerated and ruffled shoulders are huge on the runways. Make your shoulders look broader by choosing a poofy shoulder gown and create a style statement of your own. Either go for ruffles or shoulder pads to follow this style.

5. Collared Gowns

Collars are great to add a formal touch to the gowns. This trend was not seen in many of the designer collections but it is something new and we would like to see more of tuxedo-like gowns next season (hope you’re reading this, designers)! Perfect for black-tie events! I’m loving the off-the-shoulder collared gown by Zuhair Murad, bold and sizzling it is! Also, this one is paired with matching shorts. The designers are making a case this season for both pant gowns and shorts gowns.

6. Cape Gowns

Cape gowns have not lost their fame since the time we saw them on the runways. They are still super popular. And by this time, it’s become mandatory to already have them in our closet. Givenchy had a cape with a neckline panel that was different from the usual capes. So, if you’re looking for something trendier in cape style gowns, try something like this.

7. Gowns with Skinny Belts

Plain skinny belts are back, especially in the latest gown design trends. Be it pant-suit, wedding outfits or gowns, a skinny belt completes the look. The belt can either be all plain or have an embellished buckle.

8. Three Dimensional Gowns

Create some drama with three-dimensional or flouncy couture gowns. We’ve seen 3D gowns in Spring 2018 couture collections and they’re back again this season. FW18 is all about making a big statement, literally! We saw layered, exaggerated and poofy 3D gowns. Turn heads with this trend!

9. See-Through Gowns

A super-bold trend it is! Transy gowns are not new in trend but this season we’re seeing gowns which will help you show off your toned body more. I’m loving the black sheer gown by Jean Paul Gaultier that is simple, classy and elegant.

10. Pleated Gowns

Pleats all over the gown or just below the waistline – both are trendy! So, pick your choice of pleating. I’m loving the gown by Chanel that have classy old-school pleats.

So, these are the latest gown designs for 2018. I’m gonna don the trend of pant gowns. Which one did you like the best? Do let us know by tweeting @shilpa1ahuja.
