Hey gorgeous! A wedding is a magical event for the bride, the groom and the family who wanna embrace their traditions and have a gala time. But for the bride, it’s one of the most unforgettable days of her life. As it’s your day, and you rightfully deserve all that attention.

If you’re getting married soon, I imagine you must have already started dreaming and planning for the big day! One of the most challenging things for any bride is finding the attire that would look perfect on her! A lehenga choli is always a great idea that completes a bridal look. It carries such grace and ethnicity that no Indo-western attire can match it.

Latest Bridal Lehenga Trends for 2019

1. Pastels

From wedding guests to engagements, and now even in bridal lehengas, soft pastel colors have become one of the latest bridal lehenga trends for 2019. For the bride, pastel-colored lehengas are the best choice as they tend to soften your look. And there’s something about these subtle hues that they add a romantic feel during weddings, even if you have a night-time wedding. Colors like peach, petal pink, powder blue and even ivory are trendy.

2. Floral Bunch Appliqué

One of the most beautiful ways to stand out is to go for appliqué instead of zari or threadwork. This year we saw designers like Suneet Varma and Tarun Tahiliani come up with appliqués of floral bunches in their collections. We also saw large ones. Appliqués on lehenga or dupatta make the whole outfit look beautiful and romantic. Also, rose bunches are a brand new trend in appliqué for lehengas, which we’ll be seeing throughout 2019!

3. Belted Lehenga

Belts are the must-have accessory to adorn sarees and lehengas, even bridal lehengas. Belted lehenga is one of the latest bridal lehenga trends and isn’t not going out anytime soon. Belts on lehengas look fashionable yet traditional and provide a new dimension to the entire bridal look. So if you want to make a real statement, belts are a perfect idea. Select an embellished, modern one. As they look chic and give structure to the silhouette.

4. Contrast Choli

Gone are the days of wearing a monochromatic wedding attire. Instead, this season is all about creating a rich color palette. We saw contrast cholis on the runways. Choose your favorite color of the lehenga and pair it with a choli in leaf green, peacock blue or even nude. So if you’re planning to shop your bridal lehenga, then this cool trend would be a great idea to go for!

5. Fur & Feathers

Going for a fancy destination wedding? Try cozy fur or feathers on a crop jacket, choli sleeves or a bolero. Addition of fur to your designer lehenga is something trendy we saw on runways this year. And a very smart yet chic way to slay in style is by pairing a fur jacket with bridal lehenga designs. Feathers are an even more stylish addition to the latest bridal lehenga trends. Pair it with an extra cropped choli and fur sleeves jacket. You can also wear this without a dupatta for an elegant style statement to your engagement party.

6. Mirror Work

Bored of the regular ol’ zardozi and gota work on your lehenga? Go for mirror work mixed with embroidery all over your lehenga, choli and dupatta. This trend will give that richness and a sparkly look. I’m just loving the lehenga designed by Suneet Verma.

7. Layered Fish Cut Lehenga

Fish cut lehenga is one of my favorites, and it’s back! One thing about this lehenga is that one should be confident (and fit!) to pull this off as the skirt is fitted till above the knees and then flares out. So hit the gym and work that butt!

8. Floor Touching Sleeves

If you’re in search of a trendy, fashion-forward choli design, then extra long sleeves are for you! We saw sheer and embellished off-the-shoulder cholis that gave an amazing look. Ditch sleeveless this season and try slit-sleeved cholis. If this is too modern for your wedding, wear this style to your mehendi or engagement function.

9. Velvet

Velvet is a part of designer sarees as well as latest bridal lehenga trends. You can try velvet lehenga paired with gota patti choli. Or go for a velvet dupatta. If you find it’s too heavy, then you can go for velvet choli with sheer dupatta on it. Great way for all the brides to add an element of royalty on your special day.

10. Peplum

Peplum cholis are a great way to bring a western element! So if you’re not bold enough to wear extra crop cholis or off-the-shoulders, opt for peplums. As they are back and trendy this season.

  1. Hello there! These trends are very cool, although some are too unwearable IRL, but I guess some brides could want different things…
