Krishna Mehta’s latest collection was presented at Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017. The collection boasted of a vibrant Indian color palette of fuchsia, purples, beige, pastel green and lavender. Striped and checkered silks. were seen a lot. With floral hand embroidered motifs, the silhouettes showed off the traditional Indian draping with a contemporary touch.

But despite the nostalgic theme, the looks failed to come across as wearable, and lacked the element of luxury. The usual complaint we have with runway fashion is that it looks good only on the runway. But Krishna Mehta went one step ahead to create a collection that didn’t look good even on the runway.

Some of the silhouettes were waistless, and some high-waisted. The drape does nothing to flatter a woman’s body and looks too colorful even for festive wear.
