While some designers experiment with their designs so much so that it blurs the line between Ready-to-Wear and Couture, Jonathan Saunders has a clear idea of how a contemporary woman wants to dress. We modern women are busy. We hardly have the time to eat, let alone dress. But we do dress to impress. Every time. We want to stand out in a crowd. Jonathan Saunders’ designs reflect these needs. His silhouettes keep the lines clean and outfits wearable.
The Spring Summer 2016 collection by Jonathan Saunders at London Fashion Week did not fail to impress. Simple, clean patterns are entrenched in his designs, and the latest collection offered a balanced mix of freshness and practicality.

Saunders is a maestro of colors. The Spring 2016 collection has a fresh and appealing color palette – poppy red, pale yellow and mango, navy and sky blue, sea green, salmon and peach pink, crimson, tan and of course, white. Color-blocking pieces are matched with bold stripes and damask-inspired botanical patterns.
The pieces included midi and ankle-length dresses with low-waistlines, knee-length and crop asymmetric jackets, fringe scarves, structured culottes, front-slitted midi skirts and peplum tops. Belts, round bangles and ankle-strap stilettos completed the look with sleek straight brown hair!
Here are some of the key elements and features we just loved!
Damask on Culottes + Matching Jacket!
This outfit has a pair of structured tan culottes with damask-inspired botanical pattern that matches the pattern on the knee-length red suede jacket it is paired with. Plus I love the tan belt.
Tucking the Scarf Under the Belt!
Navy peplum top with front-slitted knee-length skirt and scarf with asymmetric edges and fringes, tucked under the belt. Plus: check out the bold dotted pattern which is not polka!
Front Slits on Floaty Midi-Skirts
Love this unusual color palette. A yellow skinny scarf with a not-polka-dotted pink jacket and a peach-tan floaty silk skirt. The front-slit on the skirt gives the demure midi a sexy twist!
Asymmetric Skirts with Mixed Prints
My favorite outfit from this collection! A micro candy-striped asymmetric skirt paired with salmon pink and poppy red geometric-print sleeveless top and tan bangles. Such a wearable outfit that just about anyone can pull off!
Skinny Scarves
Once again, an unusual color palette pulled off so nicely and easily in a single outfit. Moroccan-inspired motif on a shirt-dress with skinny scarf in a color that falls between salmon pink and tan. Plus: such long sleeves!
Unusual Color Combinations – Tan and Blue, Salmon and Red
Again, a clean silhouette – very wearable and versatile. A tan and sky-blue dress with ribbon-belt.
Scarves Tucked Under Tops
Slashed white skirt paired with a yellow asymmetric top and fringe scarf.
Such a wearable outfit that just about anyone can pull off!
