Deepti from Jive with Deepti is the SlubBlogger of the week. Get set to know about her journey, how she manages both personal and professional life like a pro!
Along the way, I have received recognition and awards. And also at times, things have been going really fast and I’m not going to lie, I do love that. But one can never allow oneself to become complacent about one’s success. Being successful doesn’t come easy and it doesn’t come for free.
You always have to be on your toes and you can never allow your business to take a backseat, no matter what’s going on in your life. In this business, you have thousands of competitors and you are easily forgotten if you don’t have an active presence. You can’t afford to take your followers or your business contacts for granted. Nobody is doing you any favors.
When I expanded my operations out of the Gulf region where I was a well-known blogger working with big brands and getting invites from all the new restaurants, to India, I quickly noticed that recognition doesn’t always move with you.
I had to very quickly adapt my business to the new region where fashion was different, compensation was different and even the platforms where I could promote were sometimes different. It’s a different market and if you want to be successful, you must adapt. This is not necessarily a bad thing, you learn new things all the time and one should be grateful for every lesson learnt, no matter how hard the lesson was.
I do love high-end fashion and I do enjoy wearing it even if I’m not promoting a brand, but sometimes I just want to wear my old denim, forget about hair and makeup and just chill. I do love trying food I haven’t tried before, not only when I’m invited by a restaurant, but some days the craving for a bowl of Maggi noodles in front of the TV is simply too strong.
And like most people, I do love to travel and explore new places, not only when I’m paid to do so. But some days I just want to be at home, sleeping. I think it’s extremely important not to forget to have a real life ‘behind the scenes’.
Being a lifestyle influencer has almost become part of my identity. The fact that I’m a blogger and an influencer comes up fairly quickly in any conversation with new people. But I’m a mother of a six-year-old boy and that is and will always be my greatest achievement. That is my identity and I love it!
I don’t know what the future has in store for me and what opportunities will come my way, but I’m sure that if it’s something I really want, I will work extremely hard to achieve it.
