One of the latest Fall/Winter 2016 fashion trends, metallic shoes are so versatile. Here’s how to wear metallic shoes for any occasion – street style, party, office.
Metallic shoes are one of the top Fall/Winter 2016 fashion trends. We saw metallic shoes on the runways of so many of our favorite designers like Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Max Mara and Just Cavalli. Everything from metallic heells, glittery sandals to booties to metallic knee-length boots were seen.
The Latest Metallic Shoes Trend for Fall/Winter 2016-17:
As Seen on the Runway
There’s so much to try in women’s metallic shoes. You can of course, try the classic metallic shades like gold, silver, copper, which is my favorite way to rock this trend. But you can also go for the metallic pastels like sky blue or metallic apple green. Then of course there are the hot metallic pinks and reds, for the big impact, or all-eyes-on-me statement. You can also try sequin shoes, metallic pumps, sneakers or ballet flats, the list goes on!
This variety makes metallic shoes so, so versatile. And one can pull them off at literally any occasion. They don’t have to be flashy. Metallic shoes can be paired with simple outfits to just add a bit of sparkle. So if you think metallic shoes are only for disco dancers or stage-performers, here’s how you can incorporate them into your outfit in a really trendy (or subtle) way!
How to Wear Metallic Shoes for Every Occasion
Street Style with Metallic Shoes
There are many ways to wear metallic shoes casually, depending on your personal style. If you want to wear something really trendy, try a pair of gold strappy heels with a plain black or blue jumpsuit. For a simpler look, try a pair of skinny or straight-cut crop jeans with a white tee and just pair it with silver sneakers. You can also pair a romper or shorts with metallic flats or booties.
How to Wear Metallic Shoes to Work
It may totally depend on your work environment, but still, wearing a pair of metallic shoes to work is easier than you may imagine. For most corporate work-places with a semi-formal or smart-casual dress code, copper, brass or metallic black can work well. Shoes with less “surface-area” would work well, so try thin straps or paler metallic shades. Just pair your copper ankle-strap kitten heels with your brown pant-suit and you’re good to go! Or you can wear a pair of metallic blue strappy heels with navy trousers and blue shirt. I would avoid bright-colors and sequins to work.
How to Wear Metallic Shoes at Day Parties
Silver pumps or silver strappy heels would work well for tea-parties. Pair them with white or pale-pastels for a really classy look! For brunches or garden parties, flats in pale-metallic shades are a great idea, like light pink or peach. Pair your metallic shoes with a matching mini-dress and lipstick for a casual yet chic, monochromatic brunch outfit.
How to Wear Metallic Shoes for a Night-Out
Metallic pieces and nights are made for each other!! They add just the right bit of shine and sparkle. Pair your glittery gold pumps with a little black dress for a night-out. Or pair gold or silver booties with a leather skirt or a studded-leather crop-jacket! Add some red lipstick and hit that dance-floor!
How to Wear Metallic Shoes to a Formal Party or Wedding
Gold and silver pumps or strappy heels can basically be paired with any cocktail dress for a night-time look. Add matching glittery eyeshadow and clutch for a read-in-a-minute, effortlessly sexy look! You can also try to match your cocktail or evening dress with your metallic shoes for an elegant look.
