Slit dresses and skirts can be tricky to work into street style, but if worn right, they can look sexy yet effortless. Here are 7 ways to wear slits in Spring!
Hey gorgeous! Hope you’ve been keeping it stylish this winter. I’ve created a whole new page for all Winter 2016 stuff – including celeb-style, jewelry, makeup, hair, fashion trends and much much more, so do check that out: Winter 2016 Fashion Trends.
These last couple of seasons, we’ve been seeing lots of slits – both on celebs and on the runways. I’ve included multi-slit skirts in our Ultimate Shopping Guide for Fall Winter 2015 2016, front-slit skirts in our 15 Must-Have Fashion Items for Spring 2016. Slit dresses are featured even on our 15 Must-Have Fashion Items from Pre Fall 2016 Collections. So the trend is pretty big.
From multi-slit slashed skirts, to double slit dresses, to front slits, the major trend in 2016 has evolved to high slits – thigh grazing and even dangerously high 😉 It’s easy to wear high slit dresses at nightclubs and parties, but it gets tricky to wear them casually because of their ‘too-sexy’ factor! If you think you’re not sure how to pull them off in street-style, here are some runway and celeb-inspired no-fail ways!
7 Ways to Work High Slits in Spring Street Style
#1: With Patterned/ Lace Tights
If high slits are too much leg-showy for you, just add a pair of tights. Statement tights in patterns and lace are going to be very trendy in 2016, so try striped, floral patterns or starry tights!

#2: With Over-the-Knee Boots
If you want to show some leg but not too much, over-the-knee boots make great pairings with high slit dresses. They look sexy and are a great way to wear slits in the cold weather. Here are some black thigh-high boots with slit dresses:

#3: With White Sneakers
If you wanna wear high slits without the overtly sexy factor, pair them with a pair of white sneakers. They’ll make your outfit instantly casual and wearable. Whether you wanna run errands in style, or wanna go out shopping, this will be your perfect outfit!
#4: With a Tee
Another way to wear a slit skirt casually is to pair it with a basic, neutral tee. Add a cross-body bag to make it look even more effortless. Sounds like a great brunch outfit.
#5: With a Slouchy Sweater
If you have a high slit skirt which is tight and sexy, and you want to work it in a casual daytime outfit, pair it with a slouchy sweater. It’ll bring the cool factor. Great for a lunch date or outing with friends. Got a date in the evening? You can even wear a slouchy sweater over a high slit dress for a day-to-night outfit transition.

#6: Monochromatic
Monochromatic outfits elongate the frame, making you look taller. So if you wanna look slender and sexy, wear your slit dresses with matching jackets, or shoes.
Or pair a slit-skirt in a tonal color – like shades of white or black – with a top in similar color.
And of course, denim on denim is a hugely popular trend for 2016! So try a denim slit skirt with a denim shirt or jacket.
#7: With a Crop Top
If you wanna look unabashedly sexy, go ahead and pair your slit skirt with a crop top. It’s great for casual parties or early evening dates.

If you’re still feeling too shy to wear high slits, here’s something I wanna tell you: You have great legs, and you’re super sexy. Don’t worry too much about how you’ll look, because I’m SURE you’ll look hot! So wear your slit skirt and tag me on Insta because I’m gonna double tap the hell out of that pic! 😉 Muaah XOXO
