Bond Girl fashion has always been one of the things everyone looks forward to in James Bond movies. The latest James Bond movie, Spectre, is all set to release later this year, and other than swooning over the undying charisma that is Agent 007, we love to check out the fashion of bold, strong Bond girls.
Advert:
Glamorous and sophisticated, the Bond girls can sometimes be powerful and other times be seductive. That’s why their outfits range from ass-kicking active wear to flimsy nighties to elegant evening gowns, seriously, and sometimes literally, dressed to kill. And there could be no better time than this to take a look back at the best Bond girl fashion ever! Although there are so many great outfits to choose from, but to not make this article so long, here are my favorite looks of 10 Bond girls:
1. Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder in Dr. No (1962)
Honey Ryder, played by Ursula Andress in the Bond movie Dr. No was the first Bond girl ever, and an iconic one at that, setting the bar for all the future Bond girls very high. Honey Ryder made a living selling sea shells in Miami, and made fashion history when she first rose from the Carribean in a belted white bikini, carrying a conch shell.
2. Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger (1964)
Honor Blackman played the role of a very controversially named Bond girl, Pussy Galore in Goldfinger. The suggestive name was almost cut by US censorboard, but eventually made it to the film. Her most iconic look in the movie was undoubtedly the gold-covered one, but if we talk about an outfit, I like this casual side-knotted lilac shirt with suede trousers. Her fashion in the film is smart and sharp, even inspired a limited-edition doll. Check it out!
3. Claudine Auger as Domino in Thunderball (1965)
Beautiful French actress Caludine Auger played the role of Dominique Derval aka Domino in Thunderball, and sported this raunchy one-piece swimsuit with sheer cut-outs. Quite a statement back in the 60s, but sexy and drool-worthy nonetheless, it was a major reason for many to have enjoyed the movie.
4. Barbara Bach as Anya Amasova in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
The role of Agent Tripe X, or Anya Amasova was played by Barbara Bach in The Spy Who Loved Me. Anya was the smart and yet, attractive Bond girl, the first of a kind who matched James Bond’s skill and appeal, and broke out of the breed of the previously sidekick-type Bond girls. It is hard to pick one iconic look of hers, so here are both looks – the black diamond-lined evening gown and the skimpy and hot black cross-halter bikini!
5. Kim Basinger as Domino Petachi in Never Say Never Again (1983)
Oscar winning actress Kim Basinger looked youthful and sexy in Never Say Never Again, and she wore a one-piece swimsuit that was not just leopard print, but also printed with a leopard’s face on its front. Not my type of fashion but it is something!
