Here’s the easiest idea for grey eyeshadow look. Try this steel grey and blue smokey eye makeup for day-wear as well as night-outs to match your grey dress!
Hey gorgeous! Unfortunately, it’s still winter, and while it is so, why don’t we stop complaining and let’s just make the most of it! Think winter and you think of dark hues and smokey eyes. And while the blue smokey eyeshadow look has been around for a while, I decided to try and mix it with steel grey for a grey eyeshadow look. Darker eye shadow with natural-looking lips are very in right now! So, I decided to keep the lips and cheeks neutral. I made it very light and simple-looking for day-wear, just for coffee with friends, or going out shopping, or whatever else. Check it out!
Grey Eyeshadow Look: The Eye Makeup Products
I didn’t use a grey eyeshadow palette. Instead, I built my grey eye makeup look with a combination of single eye shadows like steel grey and a smokey blue pencil liner, and I combined them with some makeup basic essential items. Here are the products I used, a mix of drugstore and brands:
- Smudgestick black pencil eyeliner by Stila
- Electra eyeshadow by M.A.C.
- 920 Lush Raven black eyeshadow by L’Oreal
- Eyshadow Base by M.A.C.
- Blue pencil eyeliner by Faces
- Eyeshadow Brush by Vega
- Volum Express mascara by Maybelline
I personally loved the M.A.C. electra eyeshadow and have used it many many times. It’s just the perfect grey eyeshadow for brown eyes.
How to Create the Easy Grey Eyeshadow Look
Prep your face with moisturizer and primer. Moisturizing is important in the winter especially to avoid cakey foundation. Apply light low-coverage foundation for a day look, like I did. Or go for a shimmery foundation for a night-out look. Use concealer for covering under-eye circles and spot concealer for blemishes and marks. For my low-key look, I skipped concealer completely, as I was just going to get coffee with my BFF and didn’t want a heavy duty makeup look.
Then apply some eyeshadow primer, you can use your fingers to apply it. And just apply grey eyeshadow with a small flat brush. Use black liner and create a slight wing. Or use a blue metallic pencil liner on both the upper lid close to the lashes and lower waterline to wing it out. Add some mascara on both upper and lower lashes. Comb your eyebrows with brow brush.
Apply compact powder at the T-zone or wherever you concealed to set the base. For the lips just use some lip balm or a nude lipstick. Apply a light dash of blush to complete the look and you’re good to go!
You can use this look with a black day-dress or mix it with other shades of grey eye makeup to match grey dress for a night-out.
