Hey beautiful! If you read my blog regularly, you’ll know I care about food as much as about fitness. Zumba, in particular. It’s my idea of a fun workout. I also love running, cycling and sometimes squash, although I haven’t played it in ages now. But I do Zumba from time to time, mostly at home. Thanks to my nomadic lifestyle, which keeps me in different cities, I’m usually always just setting up and trying to find decent Zumba classes in my (new) city!

And because I can’t stop doing Zumba in the meanwhile, I always keep a playlist handy so I can do it by myself at home. (I put a paragraph break there just so if you don’t read this, you think it’s all a well edited body of text, whereas I just put it there randomly in the middle of my nonstop prose. You didn’t even notice that this paragraph starts with an ‘and’. See what I did there?! Muhahaha. BTW I know how to do a devil-laugh properly. Do you? If not, you should try it. Say, ‘Mu-ha-ha-ha’, I’ll do a tutorial on that sometime! >:) ) Anyway, my Zumba playlist has all my favorite songs.

Zumba is very addictive, and if you haven’t been bitten by the Zumba-bug yet, you will be after this! I think these are the best Zumba songs, right from to warm up to cool down! I’ve included the tracks on SoundCloud so you can listen to them or add them to your playlist, or request your Zumba instructor to include them in your workout. Plus I’ve also included some of the Youtube workout videos whose routine I just love, so you can do workouts at home, too! So let’s start with the warm up, shall we?! 🙂

Zumba Songs: Warm-Up

The Time (Dirty Bit) by Black Eyed Peas is my favorite Zumba warm-up song ever and it’s fun and peppy! I love following it with a Salsa song, and then something pop, like Sexy and I Know It (LMFAO) and Mr. Saxobeat (Alexandra Stan).

Zumba Songs: Pitbull

I just love some Pitbull songs here: I Know You Want Me, She’s Hotter (ft. T.O.K.), Shake Senora (Feat. T-Pain and Sean Paul) and Pause, which is a very Zumba song!

Zumba Songs: Shakira

But my favorite Pitbull song is Rabiosa (with Shakira). I just love, love it!!! I also love two more Shakira songs – Wherever, Whenever and of course, Hips Don’t Lie (find the orginal version).

My favorite Zumba instructor, Dawn, used to do a better routine, but this will do for the time being!

Zumba Songs: My Favorite Ever!

My most favorite Zumba song ever is quite an unexpected one, and it’s not that popular, I guess, because not all my Zumba instructors use it. It’s called Mawa Sillah. It’s fun and has really good beats. And it makes me nostalgic, making me think of my fun Zumba workouts at M.A.C. gym, Harvard University where I used to do it the most!

Zumba Songs: Classics

I love throwing classics in the mix like We No Speak Americano (Yolanda Be Cool), Vogue (Madonna) and Jump In the Line (Shake, Shake Senora) (Harry Belefonte). These two are versatile, because they can be combined with high energy as well as low-energy routines – moving vs. shaking/jumping. I also love Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough (Michael Jackson).

Zumba Songs: Party-Type

There’s also Raise Your Glass (Pink) which is fun and party-type!

Here are two more videos whose routine I liked:

Zumba Songs: Cool Down

My favorite Zumba cool-down song is Beautiful Flower by India Arie. It’s so rejuvenating and inspiring. The lyrics go something like, “This is a song for every girl who’s ever been through something she thought she couldn’t make it through… There is nothing in the world that you cannot do – ‘cuz I believe in you. You’re beautiful, you’re powerful, you’re brilliant, you’re resilient.”

And that’s what you are, my angels. You can do anything if you try! Because you’re brilliant! 🙂
