Best Hair and Makeup Looks from Paris Couture Week SS18
Edgy Look – Black Lipstick & Top Knot Hairstyle
The runways of Jean Paul Gaultier exuded badass vibes (as always!) with models sporting bold makeup and hairstyles at PFW. The runway hair and makeup looks consisted of glossy black lips (love!), heavily lined eyes with black eyeshadow and a top knot with choppy asymmetrical bangs. With stunning black and gold jewelry to complement, it’s a super edgy look indeed! The spectacular hair and makeup looks for the show were done by Odile Gilbert and Stephane Marais, respectively.
Spring Look – Blue Eyeshadow & Big Frizzy Hair
Not an everyday makeup look but definitely show-stopping! This makeup look by Ronald Van Der Kemp is all about bright, bright colors! A sea green to sky blue ombre eyeshadow and pale pink glossy lips to balance it all out! As for the hairstyle, it’s frizzy, brushed out curls in pigtails! If hairstylists at PFW are going for this look, having frizzy hair may not be a bad thing after all! As it is, grungy hair is one of the top Spring Summer 2018 hairstyle trends, so we’ll add huge frizzy hair to the list, too!
Feminine Look – Pink Lipstick & Veil Hair Accessory
Chanel’s hair and makeup by Caroline de Maigret was one of my absolute faves from Couture Fashion Week 2018. Raspberry pink on the lips, rosy blush on the cheeks and a pale pink on the eyes was what comprised the makeup looks. And the hair was kept center-parted and tied into a low ponytail and accessorized with a rhinestone encrusted veil! How fancy!
Futuristic Fashion Look – Dark Lipstick & Wet Hair
For their artisinal themed collection at the 2018 Couture Week, Maison Margiela went for an uber cool hair and makeup look. I’m so in love with the dark, three-dimensional metallic lips, I can’t get enough of them! In fact, I loved every one of the hair and makeup looks in the show, from slicked back and glitter hair to holographic makeup!
Casual Summer Look – Watercolor Makeup & High Bun
To tie in with the show’s cloud and watercolor theme, the makeup at Armani Privé was done in pastel shades with a watercolor-like effect. Pale greens at the eyes poured into blush pinks on the cheeks in a cloudy and soft way. So unique and quite wearable off the runway too! The makeup looks also had false lashes just on the outer ends of the eyes to make the eyes look bigger. And the hairstyle was a slightly messy high bun with side-swept bangs.
Glitter Makeup Look – Shimmery Eyes & Messy Hair
Glittery eyeshadow in geometric shapes around the eyes, nude lips and bed head hair is what models donned on the runways of Viktor and Rolf SS18 at Paris Fashion Week. This fabulous makeup done by Peter Phillips isn’t wearable for everyday but would be great at costume and themed parties!
Natural Look – No Makeup Makeup & Bedhead Hair
The hair and makeup from Giambatista Valli and Schiaparelli was quite refreshing to the eyes! The nude makeup looks consisted of bare minimum makeup and natural-looking loose center-parted locks. Even the eyebrows weren’t filled to maintain the natural look. If you’re wondering how to look good without makeup, this is it!
Glam Look – Glowing Skin & Fringed Bob
I’m a huge fan of soft and dewy and this hair and makeup look by Givenchy was no exception! The dewy foundation, glossy lips and highlighted inner corners, all add to the glowy and radiant look. This simple makeup look would be great for a date. And the hairstyle is a short and sweet bob!
Graphic Look – Dramatic Eye Makeup & Bold Eyewear
This hair and makeup look by yet again, Peter Phillips, for Dior at Spring Summer 2018 couture fashion week is hands down my favorite of them all! “I created a graphic projection of the eyelashes by over-exaggerating them in the extreme,” he said about the striking makeup looks he created for Dior’s SS18 show at PFW. The eye makeup also consists of white liner along the water line and extended upwards. The rest of the face, lips and brows were left subtle. And models wore unique, novelty eyewear to keep the focus all on the eyes!
Bright Makeup Look – Magenta Eyeshadow & Slicked Back Hair
Looks like subtle eyes are almost going out of fashion! This season is surely gonna be all about fun colorful eyes! Yet another designer opting for a color pop makeup look at the Couture Fashion Week 2018 is Valentino. Bright magenta eyes, nude lipstick and hair parted at the center and slicked back were the hair and makeup of choice.
Party Look – Glitter Eyeshadow & Embellished Headgear
I really like this simple yet statement-making hair and makeup look at Elie Saab’s art deco-themed fashion show at Paris fashion week. The entire face is kept nude and subtle, except for a thin line of shimmery silver on the eyelid and a filled-in brow. This party makeup and hairstyle look is perfect for occasions where you want your outfit to stand out but also not want a completely bare makeup look. The couture week show also consisted of gorgeous bejeweled head accessories!
