Give dainty jewelry pieces a break, and make way for the trend of OTT chunky chain jewelry pieces. Here’s how to wear this latest runway trend!
The focus is all on classic link and chain jewelry, or “anchor chains”. Link and chain jewelry is making its way into necklaces, bracelets, body chains and what not. The latest runway shows brought forth a series of chain jewelry styles. So let’s take ideas on how to style them best.
Body Chains are like fashion armour. Hybrid of a chain and belt, which gives a really boho-chic look, these chains are a huge accessory in the summer time. You can wear them over bathing suits, dresses, crop tops and under jackets or coats. Designers like Alberto Ferretti, Valentino and Zuhair Murad had them in their SS’16 collections.
Anklets and Ankle Chains
Ankle-chains have been in vogue for a while now, and are a must-have for every girl. You can glam up your solid-colored pumps with anklets or you can wear them with flip-flops while hanging out with your friends at a summer café or even when you go barefoot to a pool party. Anklets are best styled up with bohemian outfits, although this season, the trend is to pair ankle chains with booties and anything designer!
They can be worn with a simple outfit when you want all the focus on your shoes. You can also try chained pumps or chain-strap shoes.
Jean Paul Gautier and Moschino have brought the trend of charms back this season on oversized chain necklaces. These super quirky necklaces can be teamed with a basic tee or with a plunging neckline romper or dress. You can also try wearing an attention-grabbing anchor-chain necklace under the collar of a shirt.
Long Chain Necklaces
Long chain necklaces, or chain chokers with long chain “drops” or fringes are the latest in necklaces. These larger than life necklaces can be paired with the currently trending off-the-shoulder and one-shoulder tops and dresses. You could also go bold by wearing them with a blazer and nothing under it to make the jewelry standout!
