Hey everyone! The Met Gala is made out to be the biggest fashion event of the year, and so many celebs really give us some of the best red carpet moments of the whole year. But with so much hype, so many other celebs disappoint too!

So let’s take a look at my favorite (and least favorite) Met Gala 2017 dresses. I went through the whole of my Instagram feed to get these! And much has probably already been written about these Met Gala 2017 dresses, so I’ve made it a competition, as always, to see which one was THE best. May the best dress win!

Let’s take a look!

18. Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner, you could’ve done something much better with your Met Gala 2017 look. This La Perla “lingerie” barely qualifies as a gown (barely – see what I did there). And the back leaves little to the imagination! Plus by the time you put on this underwear contraption, you didn’t get any left to do your hair either! The year of naked gowns was last year. Get over it! And since I had such high expectation from you, I’m gonna put you here, at the worst number.

17. Lily Aldridge

Here’s an, umm, interesting red carpet look, it’s more like a “costume”, really. Lily Aldridge in her white one-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown with a thigh-high slit and a long train. Her red boots remind me of Lady Gaga’s 2015 Met Gala dress, where she wore a white gown with red gloves. The combination of a one-sleeved gown with red boots and a pink mask, is unfortunately not cutting it for me. And I think even Kylie is better dressed than this!

16. Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner wore a Versace gown, which the brand’s Instagram calls “rose gold” but let’s face it, it’s nude, and trashy. I like the long fringes from the sleeves but the hair color just doesn’t go with this gown, Kylie, come on! Aren’t you the queen of hair colors?

15. Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae looks gorgeous in this black and white tiered Ralph & Russo gown. It’s one of the best Met Gala 2017 dresses I’m seeing, but I’m gonna put her down here because she’s not doesn’t have the body language and expression to impress me in this picture! Ya, celebrities – you gotta pose well, too, to be higher up on my list!

14. Selena Gomez

Coach just sent me this picture perfect image of Selena Gomez in a slip gown by (of course) Coach! Very minimalist, and night-gown-inspired, so Imma say, meh! Ok!

13. Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnson’s black Gucci ruffle gown certainly has some Spanish inspirations in its design. The shoulder detail is interesting.

12. Madonna

Madonna’s camo print gown by Moschino was a bold choice, but we never expect anything less from Madonna!

11. Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss really stood out in this formal, tux-inspired mini-dress by Carolina Herrera. Loving the modern overall look with cropped hair and plain black pumps. Something out of the box.

10. Emily Ratajkowski

Emily Ratajkowski wore an Ok-ish custom Marc Jacobs gown.

9. Anna Wintour

makes it to my best and worst list! The feather-trim gown is well suited for her age, so I’m gonna put her here, in the middle!

8. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez wore a custom Valentino gown in sky blue with a long train, high neck and a sheer floaty cape.

7. Gisele Bündchen

Gisele looked so, so cute in this backless silver gown by Tom Ford.

6. Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra looked fierce in a trench-coat inspired gown by Ralph Lauren. Here she is posing with Nick Jonas. Now I wouldn’t wear a trench coat to the red carpet, but you are certainly pulling it off. Interesting choice, Priyanka, but you always mess the hair up. The top knot is so hot-shower-esque.

5. Candice Swanepoel

So many ladies wear black at parties that it starts to look cliched, but VS Angel Candice is still rocking it in this strapless ball gown! Also loving that cat-eye makeup.

4. Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr is a vision in this poofy and strapless Oscar de la Renta gown, isn’t she? And she’s glowing, perhaps because of those Cartier jewels?

3. Rihanna

BadGalRiRi, aka Rihanna just can’t do without being a sight. She wore this weird 3D high-low dress by Comme des Garcons. And some interesting makeup and shoes to go with it. If red carpet is all about standing out (which it sure is), she’s definitely killing it.

2. Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid’s beige gold gown is neither too weird like Rihanna’s, or too naked like Kylie’s, nor too plain like Miranda’s but it’s a statement-maker mix which I’m liking. I don’t like those hanging hems of stockings. Such an opportunity wasted of making them a nice part of the outfit.

1. Blake Lively

Blake Lively hardly goes wrong with red carpet fashion. And Met Gala 2017 was no different for her. She wore a gold Versace gown with a plunging neckline. It’s made up of delicate gold chains and a bright blue feather embellished train. Love the gown! And that makeup!

  1. So tired of reading all praises about every single gown on every other website. You’re so honest and it’s nice to see a wittily written article.
