A collaboration between Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Fendi, the Fendi FW18 collection at Milan Fashion Week was an ode to the modern woman. And I loved all of it, not just because they chose one of my absolute favorite songs as the runway music – Shadows by Chromatics. But how the designers aimed to portray a combination of softness and strength, a representation of the urban woman. Models walked the Fendi FW18 runway in tailored wintry clothing against a geometric backdrop similar to last season’s. I liked the simplicity of it all. From the minimal set and background design to the natural makeup and soothing music. No extravagant gimmicks and guises, just pure fashion!
Tailored midi skirts and dresses in plaid prints and patent leather and fur coats in dull, earthy colors was the foundation for the Fendi fashion show. Symbolizing the urban city woman and her delicateness and powerfullness, light shirts were paired with suede skirts and flowy dresses with snakeskin boots. Monogramming was a huge part of the Fendi Fall Winter 2018 show. The iconic double F’s were on everything from bags and belts to sweaters and dresses. Mini bags, sling bags, structured handbags, fur clutches and plaid boots were prominent throughout the Fendi fashion show.
Accessories included logo earrings and cat eye-like glasses with different colored edges. Fendi FW18 also had one of my favorite makeup looks from Fall 2018 runways – fresh, flawless skin, nude lips and strikingly highlighted inner corners.
Halfway through the show, models appeared wearing loose white summery dresses and pants with minute floral embroidery. These then gave way to my favorite part of the Fendi fashion show – geometric printed dresses, geometric fur coats and jackets and beaded fringe capes! And Adwoa Aboah closed the Fendi fashion show in a long, luxurious black turtleneck fur cape.
