It was all floral-themed in the Fendi couture collection this year. The runway was set up as a forest with flowers, shrubs, and leaves. It was fall, but with flowers! The fashion show description described the collection as, “By dreaming of flowers from another world, a strange and ethereal beauty emerges.” The show started with a well-fitted red lace dress with an attached cape. It had velvet floral appliqué here and there on the and on the neckline. The show gradually moved on to fur coats, dresses, and gowns with collared necklines and well-defined shoulders.
The color palette was wide. It included bright colors like red and purple, classic black and later moved on to pastels like pink, orange, yellow, lilac and pure white. There were multicolor dresses with an ombré effect. Attached poncho capes were seen in many looks, which elongated into a cape at the back. Floral appliqué was a big trend highlighted in the collection – from necklines to sleeves, from belt buckles to all over the dresses.

Fur elements were seen in many looks. As it is said in the description, “In delicate wings of fabric, the silhouette unfurls like precious petals, fur coats and gowns that cocoon at the shoulders and fall into fishtail points. Heart shapes abound, draping into soft capes, contoured sleeves and winged skirts.” Let’s just hope it’s not real fur!

Accessories were minimal – floral appliqué micro bags and one of the looks had a fur boa. The makeup was neutral with nude lips and winged liner. Medium contouring with a hint of blush completed the looks of the models. Hair was sleek, side swept and tied into a ponytail. In a few looks, fur pom-poms were used as hair accessories. Shoes included velvet ankle length booties with floral appliqués.

My favorite looks from the collection were an ombré mini dress and a layered strapless maxi dress with large 3D flower pin at the center.
