Apart from sandals and pumps, you can pair socks with boots, as sock boots and booties are still in! From different materials to styles, let the socks steal the show this year. Forget plain cotton socks. Try new varieties of styles in socks this year. Lace, metallic, printed, wool, sheer, embellished, fur, fishnet, wool, embellished and leather are a few to name. Read on to know how the designers styled the quintessential socks for the fall-winter season!
1. Sandal and Socks – Sheer & Velvet
Wearing socks with sandals may not be a new trend. But designers have come up with noteworthy styles to try. Sheer socks are something to die for! We saw a plenty of them. From Zuhair Murad to Dolce & Gabbana, try the statement style by pairing socks with your sandals.
Apart from sheer, you need to try velvet socks paired with sandals. Christian Louboutin’s green velvet socks paired with embellished wedges are so so perfect for parties or even a prom! I can imagine Cheryl from Riverdale wearing it paired with a little white dress. Aww! So magical!
2. Fishnet Socks
Fishnet socks are super-chic. These adorable pair of socks are perfect for parties. You can wear them to a casual outing, too! Pair black fishnet socks with bright colored sandals like teal green or red and a matching mini dress. A perfect outfit for a date night or a girl’s night out!
Or pair bright colored fishnet socks with contrast colored sneakers for a vibrant look. Pair it with shorts and tee shirt or a mini dress with zipper dress, which is quite trendy! We also saw fishnet ankle socks paired with slip on shoes and metallic booties!
3. Wool Dress Socks
Wool socks were a common sight in the designer collections. They are super-trendy and a perfect choice for the fall-winter season. We saw solid colors ruling the runways. The colors included classics like black, white and green. apart from the classic woolen socks, we saw fuzzy socks and custom printed socks, too!
Pair them with printed shoes, flats, pumps, peep toes, and sandals with ankle strap. To be a head turner, pair them with unique styles like angular heels or multi-colored sneakers. Custom logo socks by Versus Versace and Chloe paired with printed shoes are perfect for shopping.
4. Lace Socks
Lace is very much in this year. We saw lace details in trendy tops and dresses! And lace socks are super-hot, too! Unlike other fashion socks, lace socks definitely grab attention even if you wear trousers or a long maxi dress. Pair them with matching shoes or contrast ones!
5. Embellished Cute Socks
Who said embellishments are only for outfits?! Welcome embellished socks this year. We saw pearl embellished socks paired with embellished checkered shoes and bead embellished socks paired with platform heels. Pair them with matching dress to ace the cute girly look!
6. Leather Socks
Leather and winter go hand in hand. Although we didn’t see many designer socks in leather, we felt they need to be mentioned in the fashion socks. Valentino’s classic black leather socks paired with black embellished pumps is a timeless combination for any girl during winter. Wear them with LBD or a midi dress. Also, complete the look by sporting leather gloves.

7. Furry Socks
Fur is yet another winter element that cannot be ignored in the world of fashion (we recommend faux fur, always). Bright colored socks with fur trimmings are something you totally need to try this winter. Pair them with pumps or even metallic sneakers and a matching bag with fur trimmings. I can imagine applauding you already!
8. Mesh Socks
Mesh socks were super stylish. Though we saw mesh socks in the classic color black, we would love to see more bright colors like neon pink, green, yellow and orange. Imagine candy color socks paired with matching shoes with LBDs. OMG! I’m drooling!
9. Metallic Socks
Who loves bling?! Of course, metallics are always on top of any fashionistas list. But I’m not one amongst you. So, this is my least favorite fashion socks trend! Okay! Go ahead, make fun of my unblingy fashion choices! Gah! So, anyways, metallic socks are in trend and full metallic look is very much in! Pair them with embellished shoes and metallic pantsuit and hit the nightclub!

10. Skeleton Socks
This is the coolest trend amongst all the fashion socks. Skeleton style socks are the ones with large square-shaped cutouts. It’s an uber-chic celebrity socks style, check out Cara Delevingne wearing these for Puma pairing white skeleton socks with pink color sneakers. You can even match your socks and outfit color.
