Here at ShilpaAhuja.com, we focus so much on fashion trends and latest must-have items. And we’ve already written so much about this fall’s fashion styles. However, if you wanna know how the “latest” trendy items are to be worn and paired together, you are at the right place.
Other than analyzing runway fashion, one thing I love to do every year is to check out celebrity street style, to get fresh outfit ideas. Surely, this year we got ideas, as well as some new fashion guidelines, which will make sure your fall fashion outfits stand out! So let’s check them out!
7 New Ways to Wear Fall Fashion Outfits
1. Rock an androgynous outfit with sexy heels for a shock effect
There’s so many of us who love unisex-type style. Especially during fall winter, sometimes we just don’t wanna bother with girly jewelry or feminine scarves. So if your outfit du jour is androgynous, the new way to rock it is to add some unexpected spice with a pair of straight-off-the-runway booties.
Loved this outfit on Kendall Jenner. The white tee under a red down jacket paired with crop boy jeans is all very androgynous. And the mesh white heels offset this in a way that’s not too much in your face, but just enough to make an unforgettable statement. You could rock mesh booties over wool socks. If it gets too cold to wear mesh heels, rock one of the other fall shoe trends.
2. Pair the rebellious boots with an elegant lapel jacket
Lapel or bar jackets are a fall essential since last year. And I recommend them for every girl. They’re very easy to pair with just about any outfit. Victoria’s Secret model Jasmine Tookes here wears a very stylish long lapel jacket with blue leopard print.
And if you think it’ll start looking too formal, well, just add the most rebellious shoes you’ve got. Leather thigh high boots, patent leather boots, anything you like! A crop turtleneck and sports sunglasses add the casual touch. This would make a cute fall outfit for date or coffee with the girls.

3. Pair color blocking + animal print with wardrobe basics
Think print-on-print is too tricky to carry? Not anymore! This fall, you can have some fun with different types of prints! Just go for a very casual color-block jacket and pair it with your leopard print booties. The trick here is to keep everything else very basic. Think plain jeans, achromatic sweater and a neutral-colored matching handbag.
Gigi Hadid does it with a box bag and white boy jeans (see types of pants to know what boy jeans is). This outfit, by the way, also follows our guideline #1 (see above) by pairing an androgynous outfit with sexy booties. This style would work great for cute fall outfits for school.
4. Rock a grown-up schoolgirl outfit with 90s plaid & thigh-high boots
Leave it to Blake Lively for coming up with the most stylish outfits – whether it’s red carpet or not. Schoolgirl looks are very difficult to pull off, and most fashionistas stay away from them, because of the risk of coming across as trying too hard. But this year, we have a new way to rock it while looking very stylish!
Plaid is one of this year’s hottest trends, and we saw many fashion shows, including Versace and the very recent Victoria’s Secret one showcasing plaid on plaid. So go for a plaid jacket or coat and wear it with a plaid mini-skirt. To give a scruffy, warm look, go for tweed. Wear it over a white button-up or sweater.
To avoid looking too much like a wannabe-schoolgirl, add black or burgundy nails or elegant jewelry. And go for two different colors in coat and skirt to avoid looking like you’re wearing a school uniform. Add a pair of matching thigh-high boots to further the grownup-girl effect! Great look for a date, or drinks after work. Serena van der Woodsen would be proud!

5. Boy jeans and patent leather booties are the new rocker chic look
Here’s the new look you gotta master if you want jeans in your fall fashion outfits. Forget skinny jeans, and go for boy jeans instead. They are relaxed, straight-cut, cropped and slightly high-rise. Go for a subtle yet sexy rock chic look by pairing them with a pair of booties and puffer jacket over a cute cami. We recommend black patent leather booties, a la Victoria’s Secret Angel, Behati Prinsloo Levine. I also love the chain belt adding to the rocker look. Perfect street style look for fall.
7. Wear a midi skirt with boyfriend shoes & oversized sweater for a sophisticated yet casual fall look
Olivia Palermo shows us the perf way to wear skirts in fall. The wool midi skirt is warm, but it looks matronly if worn the wrong way. And what better way to make it seem effortlessly cute than to pair it up with an oversized sweater?! She also accessorizes with a trendy pair of blade sunglasses and double monk shoes. The monochromatic look is set off with a fur design on the sweater and matching clutch, but you can add a striped boa instead.
It’s a great work-to-date outfit! Or it can even work for a casual work meeting.
7. Wear crop hoodie with cargo pants for fall athleisure look
This look on VS model, Alexina Graham, is not technically athleisure, yet it gives off the same carefree vibe. What are fall fashion outfits without the mention of hoodies? And you can go for one of the warm fall shades, like rust, orange, red, burgundy or masala yellow. Pair a crop hoodie with high-waist cargo pants to look like the coolest girl in town! Add flat or low-heeled booties and if your waist is getting cold, a neutral-colored bodysuit.
This look would work great as an early fall outfit, or as a fall outfit idea for school.
