The runway track was a remix of the hit song, Mercy by Shawn Mendes. All the looks seemed to have Asian influences judging by the color palette, silhouettes and choice of fabric. I really liked the contradiction of traditional cultural pieces combined with western looks.

The show opened with looks featuring kimono-style shirts, baggy trousers, culottes and skirt-style pants. They were followed by floral print tuxedo and bomber jackets, tailored suits, Asian motifs and belted jackets. Accessories included cross body bags, knotted belts, printed shoes and headbands. The color palette was kept quite simple with shades such as white, black, red, navy and gold.

This Asian inspired collection by Emporio Armani for SS18 is creative and innovative. But I’m not really sure about the wearability. Especially those skirt-like pants. But who knows, they might even become a huge trend! And for some reason, most of the looks had ties tucked into the pocket at the lapel which I found quite strange but also intriguing.

These printed gold jackets are what stood out to me most. The metallic gold works so well with the black trousers. The designer went for baggier silhouettes for Spring, which in comparison to last season’s collection looks less polished. The fine tailored Armani look is just lost here. The collection still scores points on creativity and novelty.
