Dior-fall-winter-2018-19-fw18-rtw-dresses-collection (1)-extra-long-sleevesThe Dior Fall Winter 2018-19 collection was all about women. It seems like Maria Grazia, the famed fashion house’s first female Creative Director really wants to bank upon the fact. Collages of women made out of newspaper cutouts were seen all over the runway. This included the floor and the ceiling as well. There were many feminist slogans written all over and there was also a line, ‘I’m a woman,’ written at the start point. The show started with a model wearing an extra long sweater with text ‘C’est non, non, non et NON’ paired with plaid culottes. The show then gradually moved on to plaid skirt sets. Flowy light garments were the highlight of the show. Pantsuits were surely headturners. The printed fabrics reminded us of the 70s era – colorful, bold and chic!

Different types of blazers, almost all types were seen. The quintessential sheer skirts are something Maria Grazia Chuiri is not willing to let go of. Bohemian dresses and bold graffiti printed dresses along with the letter, D, on the waistline made a statement. Colorful text tee shirts were the It-things of the collection.

Accessories were aplenty – hats, sunglasses, bracelets, rings and hats. The oversized sunglasses in different colors like pink, yellow and black blended well with the outfits. While the berets complemented the collection well, the monkey caps gave a new definition to the winter wear. There was a variety of bags – cross body, double bags, micro and many more. Shoes included leather boots and booties.

My favorite looks from the collection were a sheer ruffled dress and the button up shirt paired with a multicolored skirt.

Overall, a vibrant collection for the modern woman who’s ready to conquer the world in wide metallic trousers and sheer skirts. Maria Grazia got it right this season. The collection indeed empowers women – with different types of outfits for every woman. From different body types to old to young, every woman find her piece in this collection and rock it proudly!
