Hey gorgeous! Handbags have always been a must-have for women. But, of course we easily get bored by the same styles and so we keep updating our closets with the latest trends. And what better place to look for the latest (and upcoming) handbags than the fashion weeks? From party clutches to street style totes, we saw many new trends in handbags this season. So, lets check out the 14 latest trending handbags for Fall 2017.

Handbags for Fall 2017

1. Fringe Handbags

Fringe bags are back this season (with a bang)! We saw fringes just on one side of the bag like in Chanel and Michael Kors collections. Whereas in Fendi and Alexander McQueen, the edges of the bags were fringed. Sling bags, clutches and handheld bags were seen with fringes, especially in colors like red, black, blue and metallic. We also saw tassels in Balmain collection, and we’re personally loving metallic fringes.

2. Structured Sling Bags

Structured handbags are timeless that never really go out of fashion. This season we are seeing structured bags no more than hip length. We saw both broad and sleek straps, both with leather and chain! I love the printed structured bag by Moschino.

3. Fur Bags

Grab a bag matching your winter outfit as fur bags are gonna be in trend for Fall 2017! We saw fur bags in many of our favorite designer collections like Fendi, Balmain, Prada, etc. Fur straps, handles, fur trimmings and complete fur bags – are all going to be trendy next season. Match your bags pattern with your outfit (super trendy) or with shoes like D & G.

4. Statement Strap Bags

The trend of statement straps is back this season and is here to stay for seasons to come! We saw woven, fur, logo, embellished and scarf straps. Statement straps go well with any type of bag like structured, handheld or messenger bags. Try the scarf strap bag for a cool look. Also, try removable straps so you can match them to your outfits each time!

5. Printed Handbags

Printed handbags are a good investment as they won’t go out of fashion anytime soon. The prints keep changing every season but a classy floral or graffiti is for the keeps! Handbag prints matching the outfits are super popular this season. We saw floral, animal and theme based (space theme in D & G) prints on the runways. Also, check out printed shoes.

6. Metallic Handbags

From sling to handheld to backpacks to hobo, the trend of metallics is booming in handbags for fall. Dazzle your party outfit with metallic handbags or just sport one casually with jeans and a plain tee. The basic metallic shades are back this fall – silver and gold.

7. Tote Bags

Bigger is better when it comes to handbags! Shop in style with the trendy tote bags this season. Printed, fur and velvet totes are trendy. Top handle tote bags are what we are seeing in the collections of fashion houses like Fendi, Ralph Lauren, Coach, etc.

8. Double Bags

The trend of double bags is back from last season and is evolving. In this season, we’re seeing a lot of variations. We saw two micro bags paired together or a mini bag with a coin pouch (Coach), a tote and a matching structured micro bag (Fendi), two mobile pouches of contrasting colors (Gucci) or a structured bag with a sling box clutch (D & G). If you wanna pair bags from within your closet, go for those in same material and/or color family, so they look like a set.

9. Two Tone Handbags

Many designers have come up with the trend of two-tone bags. This is one of my favorite trends in handbags for Fall 2017. The two colors in handbags can be either contrasting (Chanel), complimentary (Moschino), bright (Versus Versace), or both neutral shades (Coach).

10. Box Clutch

Box clutches make their way into the trends list every season and here they are in this season too! Box clutches are a perfect party accessory. We saw both big and small box clutches in Fall 2017 collections. Handheld, sling, top handle and chain strap box clutches are trendy this season. Neutral clutches or those matching the outfits are a classic style, but this season we are seeing contrasting ones too. Waiting for the studded two-tone box clutch by D & G to come in the stores so that I be the first one to grab it. 😉 Loved it!

11. Micro Bags

These are gonna be huge next season – seen in many collections of Fall Winter 2017. Palm-sized micro bags are gonna be trendy for Fall/Winter 2017. Keep your important teeny-tiny things safely from getting lost in these trendy micro bags. Love the colors – pink, red, khaki and neutrals. And they’re not only for casual looks, they work well with the formals, too (Oscar de la Renta)!

12. Circular Mini Bags

Mini bags were quite popular last seasons but this season, we are seeing them round. Sling, handheld, top handle, wristlet and clutch circular bags are trendy. I love the iridescent sling bag by Chanel.

13. Medium to Large Handheld Bags

Yes, all the designers are getting obsessed with handheld bags, despite Shilpa’s repeated requests to evolve handbags to be hands-free and practical! A handheld bag is a brand new trend we are seeing in the Fall/Winter 2017 collections. Both medium and large handheld bags are trendy. Plain and printed handheld bags are what we are seeing in some of the collections like Moschino, Prada, Simone Rocha, etc. I like the black embellished bag by Prada.

14. Backpacks

We have been seeing backpacks on the runways for a couple of seasons now. The backpacks are simpler and minimalistic this season, seen in the collections of Moschino, Chanel, Alberta Ferretti and Versus Versace. Mini to huge backpacks, both are going to be trendy for Fall 2017. Try this for a perfect street-style look.

So, these are the latest handbags for Fall 2017. I love the two-tone handbag trend. Which trend are you gonna follow for Fall 2017? Do let us know in comments below!
