We saw interesting skirt trends in the runway looks of Fall Winter 2017 ready-to-wear collections. Whether for formal or casual wear, skirts have so much to offer. Latest Skirt Trends for Fall 2017
1. Leather Midi Skirts
Leather is perfect for the fall season. Leather midi skirts made waves in the Fall/ Winter 2017 runway collections. Almost all the major designers made a case for leather skirts, from Fendi to Michael Kors to Versus Versace. We saw pleated, high low, slit and two tone leather skirts. They were paired with sheer tops, one sleeved tops, button up shirts, poncho cape tops and fur cropped tops in latest skirt trends for 2017. I loved the red leather midi skirt by Fendi.
2. Skirts with Front Slit
Skirts with front slits are ruling the runway this fall. From Chanel to Prada to Versus Versace, many designers created cool, casual and formal looks with front slit skirts in fashion trends for 2017. We saw metallic and leather skirts in most of the looks in skirts fashion. Also, a pencil skirt by Max Mara and a textured skirt by Roland Mouret. Whether you wear them to office or parties, they surely are head-turners in skirt trends!
3. Pleated Midi Skirts
Pleated skirts are still trendy as ever. We saw box pleats in the collections of Chanel, Fendi and Givenchy. We also saw inverted pleats in the collections of Mulberry and Carolina Herrera. These pleated midi skirts go well for parties, casual outings and date nights. Try to experiment with your pleated skirts in fashion trends for 2017 by pairing them with a pleated top or a long slit top like the looks in Mulberry and Fendi.
4. Art Printed Skirts
Art inspired prints on skirts looked magnificent in the runway collections. We saw Italian inspired, floral, pineapple motifs and graphic prints in the designer collections of Alberta Ferreti, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Prada.

Up your style with shimmery metallic skirts this fall. Metallic skirts are perfect for parties in fashion trends for 2017. You can wear them to brunches, night-outs and for office parties. We saw metallic wraparound, matching mini, two tone asymmetric and midi skirts in the designer collections of Balenciaga, Chanel, Dries Van Noten and many more. I loved the Max Mara shimmery skirt paired with sleeveless sweater – perfect as officewear or for formal parties.

Why should jeans and trousers have all the fun? Dresses and skirts, too come with the essential pockets and create a statement. We saw pockets on the sides, front and pockets with zippers in the designer collections of Carolina Herrera, Max Mara and many more.
7. Fun Hemlines
There’s so much happening along the hemlines of the skirts styles 2017. We saw ruffles, pleats, asymmetric and fur hemline skirts in the collections of Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Isabel Marant, Marc Jacobs and Prada. They were paired with matching and contrast tops.
8. Overskirts
Overskirts are fun and they create a statement for sure. Basically, overskirts are elongated separates worn over skirts or pants. We saw overskirts that were paired with long tee shirts, mini skirts and dresses. In a few looks, the overskirt was plain and in others, they had belts and knots. To keep warm this winter, overskirts are a great way to style your outfit. One of my favorite skirts fashion style!
9. Sheer Skirts
Sheer skirts have been a popular trend since Spring Summer 2017 and it’s still as trendy as ever. We saw bold sheer midi skirt paired with boxer shorts and a button up shirt and jacket by Dolce & Gabbana, mesh skirt paired with tee shirt by Moschino and sheer skirt paired with a blazer by Victoria Beckham.
10. High Low Skirts
In 2017, we’ve seen high-low tops, dresses and gowns, skirts aren’t far behind. The cool high low or asymmetric skirts fashion style are here to stay. We saw asymmetric high low style in the collections of Christopher Kane, Isabel Marant, Monse and Roland Mouret in latest skirt trends.
