A metallic dress is sure to brighten any occasion. Discover this latest trend straight from the runways of Fall/Winter 2016-17.
Hey beautiful! The usual LBD or satin gown too tame for you? Here’s a new fashion trend to upgrade your wardrobe. The metallic dress has been spotted on the runways of Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and many more this season. Also, we have included in the latest trends for Fall/Winter 2016-17 list. The metallic dress is not actually made up of metal (lol, obviously) but yes, it gives the metallic effect either with sequins or shiny fabric in a metallic shade.
Top Shades for the Metallic Dress in 2016
A wide variety is seen in the color palette of the metallic dress. The colors include pale gold, bronze, brass, silver, burnt gold and antique brass. The colors don’t just have to be metallic. We even saw metallic shades of fuchsia and berry red, too.
Top Fabrics For the Latest Metallic Dress Trend
In metallic dresses the type varies from sequin to foil to shimmer. The fabric and texture can give each dress a unique look. We are also seeing some in polyester, acrylic, leather and silk. Here’s one by Fendi in which hand-painted silk is used.
Where to Wear the Metallic Dress
Metallic dresses are ruling the runways this season, and they are a must-try for all you trendy ladies! Wear them to cocktail parties, weddings, dates with your special ones and to your prom. You may feel that a metallic dress can only be worn to a party or night out, but if selected and accessorized right, you can wear them for casual outings and formal parties, too.
A gold dress too shiny for you? You can even try this trend if you’re not bold enough to wear a metallic dress. Try metallic accents on the pockets, collars or sleeves and that would make your outfit look statement yet simple and trendy.
One of my favorite metallic dresses is this one from Michael Kors Fall/Winter 2016 Ready-to-Wear collection worn by Kendall Jenner. The silver sequined outfit with small floral embellishments looked flawless! The outfit was paired with metallic shoes, too.
Another one of my favorites is this one from Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear 2016 collection. I can’t take my eyes off this bronze colored metallic jacket paired with a metallic shrug.
