Cool Jeans Styles for Fall/ Winter 2018
1. Unwashed Jeans Style
The Fall Winter 2018 runways proved that unwashed and solid color jeans are must-haves for the upcoming season. Top designers like Donatella, Jeremy Scott, Michael Kors and Maria Grazia Chiuri opted for this style of jeans in their Fall 2018 collections. Do you need any more reasons to make these cool jeans your wardrobe staple?
2. High-Waisted Jeans
The most flattering style of jeans for every body type and shape, high-waist is another jeans trend for Fall Winter 2018. We’re seeing high-waisted jeans combined with other latest jeans trends like patchwork, studs, distressed and cropped.
3. High-Waist Cropped Boy Jeans
Whether it’s on celebs or runways, this trend’s extremely popular this season. From Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner to Michael Kors and Dior, this style of high-waisted, cropped boy jeans is everywhere! Boy jeans, not to be confused with boyfriend jeans are not as baggy but also not too fitted. They’re a perfect in-between that looks like you’re wearing a pair of meninine jeans. But not the over-sized boyfriend kind. Try cool jeans with frayed or folded hems.
4. Distressed & Frayed Denims
Ripped jeans have been super trendy for quite some time now. But this season, it’s all about massive horizontal rips. Every pair of cool jeans that walked down the Balmain runway had rips so huge that it looked like multiple holes instead of distressing. But if you’re not a fan of these badass rips, you can always try tinier ones like the look from Victoria Beckham. The most common area we’re seeing for the rips are thigh and knee but some had rips at the calf as well.
If rips, whether big or small are entirely not your thing, I suggest check out the next closest trending jeans style – frayed hems. Although this trend was popular last Spring, this season, it’s back and bigger! From minute and miniscule fraying to 1 inch long ones, we’re seeing them all. Almost all of them were cropped and high-waisted. The cool jeans from Versace even had fraying at the knee where the patchwork began.
5. Slim Fit Jeans
Skinny is out! Slim fit is in! Not too loose and not too tight, these cool jeans are great for someone that likes fitted jeans but without the uncomfortable factor that comes with wearing skinny jeans. This is such a versatile fit – you can dress them up (for a business trip with a blazer), or down (with a glittery top for a night out)! I’m a huge fan of these comfy yet cool jeans and will definitely be on the lookout for them on my next shopping trip!
6. Cropped Jeans
Women’s fashion jeans cropped at the ankle is yet another trending jeans style for 2018. I love cropped jeans so much that I often fold the hems of my regular length jeans. And I’m really glad this fashion jeans trend is back. However, this season they’re more cropped than ever. The jeans from Dior had hems as high as almost 2 inches above the ankle. That being said, slightly cropped ones hitting just above the ankle are in too.
7. Washed Denim Fashion
Yes, not only unwashed jeans are huge this season, washed ones are just as prominent in the designer collections too. And weirdly enough, the only faded ones we saw on the runways were blue. So, stay away from washed black jeans, ladies!
8. Studded Jeans
Probably my favorite denim fashion trend of the season, jeans with studs are the perfect way to add a li’l something to a casual outfit. Both flat and round-top studs in gold and silver were seen on the FW18 runways. If you’re into subtle embellishments, try jeans with studs just at the waist like Alberta Ferretti. And if you’re into bold, statement-making ones, go for a pair that’s studded all over like the Alice+Olivia one. It’s also got some rips at the thigh. Can you imagine anything more perfect for a night out?!
9. Mixed Denim Shades
The coolest pair of jeans from FW18 collections has got to be the half icy blue and half dark blue jeans from Alice + Olivia. They’re quite out there but wear them and you’ll be making heads turn! This dual colored trend was also seen in Dior with light blue aztec and boho prints on the hems of dark blue jeans. Similarly, Monse had a huge printed logo down one side of the leg. Pair this new jeans style with a different color denim top or jacket to look denimed-out! Or style your dark denims with a lighter-shaded denim belt to make an Insta-worthy statement!
10. Patchwork Jeans
Take classic jeans up a notch with patchwork jeans style for Fall 2018! You can go as subtle or as bold as you wish to! We’re seeing all types on the runway. From Dior’s renaissance mosaic style patchwork of different colored denim to Versace’s plaid and denim combo. Or go for statement cool jeans like the look from Balmain – an all-over patchwork of overlapped denim panels.
11. Loose Fit Jeans Style
If you thought you could make do with just slim fit jeans for the rest of the year, loose ones are in too. In this type of silhouette, we’re spotting many variations like baggy, boyfriend and boy. Try these cool jeans with a cropped hemline and a low waist.
