Hey hottie! Summer is all about crop tops and mini-dresses! But one dress is really making waves on the runways and on celebs alike this season. It’s a classic dress that’s an absolute wardrobe essential this summer – versatile and sexy – the slip dress.
Slip dress isn’t a new concept. The idea of wearing innerwear as outerwear has been around for decades, in fact, even centuries! This classic dress even got a royal status when Princess Diana wore a Dior slip dress in midnight blue with lace trimmings:

Slip Dresses: How to Wear this Latest Classic Dress Trend
If you’re wearing a slip dress to a party, the trick lies in accessorizing. Like Princess Diana (above) paired it with a matching mini Dior bag and a multi-string pearl necklace. Dolce & Gabbana’s Summer 2016 collection, ‘Sparkling Night’ is all about lingerie-inspired party clothes and accessories inspired by the Great Gatsby era. So for parties, wear a slip dress that’s cinched in the waist, and pair it with an embellished clutch, pumps and hair accessories or pearl stud earrings. You can even add a sparkly belt. Keep the makeup rosy and simple!
For Street Style:
I love the idea of pairing a slip dress with a denim jacket or a cardigan, but in the scorching heat, that may not be possible. If you like, pair it with a summer cardigan or a chic wrap. Add a pair of casual white sneakers or short black ankle-length leather booties/shoes. Keep the makeup casual and hair messy!
So are you loving this latest classic dress? Do you own a slip dress, and if so, how are you planning to wear it this summer? Lemme know below!
