Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Simple, easy and quick, here’s the best gooey banana bread recipe to instantly satisfy your chocolate cravings! Try this simple banana bread recipe without wanting to eat up the batter on its own, I dare you!
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup choco chips
- 1 tbsp milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
This easy banana bread recipe makes one loaf and serves one or even five, depending on how much you’re willing to share! So first things first, you’ve gotta preheat your oven to 165° C. In the meantime, you can prep your batter. Firstly, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Mash up the bananas in a different bowl using a fork, until there are no lumps left. Make sure to use overripe bananas with black spots on them, for a super sweet tasting banana bread. Use just one and a half if they’re quite big. Add milk to it and stir.
In another large bowl, whisk the butter and sugar together. You could even use brown sugar, if you prefer. Now add the eggs one by one, making sure to whisk well in between.
Now add the dry mixture into it and stir until they’re all combined and without any lumps. You can even add in some cinnamon for a spicy kick. Then, add in some mini chocolate chips and your choc chip banana bread batter is ready!
Grease a tin or loaf pan with butter and dust some flour over it. I used a circular tray ’cause that’s all I had and also for aesthetic purposes! It ended up looking like a beautiful chocolate banana cake! Once you pour the batter into the pan, shake it to get rid of any air bubbles.
And after debating for 5 whole minutes whether I should add the leftover choco chips on top of the batter or leave it aside to snack on later, I decided it would look quite pretty peeking out of the crust. So in they went!
Now put it in the preheated oven and let it cook for an hour. During this time, you can lick the batter off the spoons, whisks, bowls and even the counter, if you must! It’s nothing to be ashamed of; I did that too!! I can’t put in words how amazingly delicious banana bread batter tastes!
Once 60 minutes are up, check up on the chocolate banana bread by inserting a toothpick or skewer into it. If the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, turn the oven off and wait for it to cool completely before taking it out. If not, let it cook for another five or ten minutes.
I also have to warn you about the delicious fragrance that wafts out of the oven while the chocolate chip banana bread bakes. I had to fight the urge to not open the oven and stick my head in there! Even my brother who never ever leaves his room, stepped out, wondering what smelled so good. That’s an accomplishment right there!
Cut them up into pretty li’l slices and enjoy or dig right in with a fork like me ’cause I don’t like waiting! And especially not when it comes to a yummy banana bread with chocolate chips! And that’s how easy it is to make a moist chocolate chip banana bread!
Paleo Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
This simple banana bread recipe from civilizedcaveman on YouTube is for those who wanna stay healthy but also indulge in some banana and chocolate goodness! What I love about it is you don’t have to do any whisking, everything just goes into a blender! It’s pretty much the same easy banana bread recipe as mentioned above but with a few tweaks. It uses almond/coconut flour instead of the regular kind, almond/macadamia nut butter instead of normal butter and vanilla extract instead of sugar. Combine the bananas, eggs, flour and almond butter in a blender. Once they’re all blended, add in the baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix well. And your paleo chocolate chip banana bread batter is all done!
Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
No one can debate the fact that banana bread tastes best when it’s juicy and moist! So for an extra delicious banana chocolate chip bread, follow the same recipe as above but add in 1/4 cup of vegetable oil to the butter, sugar and eggs mixture. Some banana bread recipes also use 1/2 cup of sour cream instead. Create your chocolate chip banana bread depending on what you have available at home.
Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Bread
To add some texture and flavor to your chocolate chip banana bread recipe, add some chopped walnuts to the batter after combining the wet and dry ingredients. You could even skip the choc chips and have just the walnuts if you’re trying to be healthy.
One Banana Bread
You’re craving for some warm banana bread with chocolate chips but all you have is one banana. What do you do? Make a one banana bread of course! Yes it’s possible! And it doesn’t alter the yumminess whatsoever. Or even if you’ve just spotted one banana turning all spotty and ugly and you don’t know what to do with it, turn it into a heavenly chocolate chip banana bread! However, you can add some vanilla extract and extra sugar if you want your banana bread to be super sweet!
